Do you have a silver polishing cloth (the ones impregnated with some cleaning stuff)? Sometimes you get one free when you buy a piece of silver jewellery - I know Next give them, but I bought a huge one a while ago from Ebay for next to nothing. One of those should polish the frame up lovely.

I've used foil in a bowl of hot water with bicarbonate of soda to clean solid silver jewellery and it's nothing short of miraculous, but I'm not sure I'd do it with something that was only silver plated.

Yes they should do it - anything that attacts static cling just rub over the shade and you will be surprised how much dust comes off - don't throw the sheet away unless it is filthy because it is great for dust on tv's too

Is it the metal that has actually reacted with something to make the green? If so, I think you might just have to live with it or replace it
