Bless her my Nan mistook a can of Betterware Fridge and Freezer Defroster for a can of their Smear-Free Window Foam and now her windows are anything but smear free.

We are wondering if anyone knows what chemical might be in it, or any special tricks to get rid of it... We've tried vinegar / newspaper / window cleaner etc etc... And all it seems to do is move around the glass...

Have you tried washing the glass with a sponge and hot soapy water then finishing off when dry with the usual window cleaning product?

Problem was we wore belts which were whitened with that shoe whitener & polished brass buckles, the trick was to keep the white off the brass & Brasso off the white!

Don't they make Blanco any more? I used to Blanco my Dad's belts and gaiters when I was a nipper (I don't suppose Servicemen wear gaiters any longer, do they?) I also became an expert at bulling his boots and pressing his Blues, too.

Oooh Blanco! That brings back memories. We used to do our pumps with it and put them outside on the windowsill to dry. If you put too much on the pumps it used to crack. :D

Thanks, I'll see if there's an email contact on the website...

And maybe I'll suggest they change the design of the cans at the same time! ;-)

Apologies if this has already come up. I have several lego type bath toys that I would like to pass on, but unfortunately they have fairly heavy water stains on them. Apart from soapy water, is there a miracle cure without removing the surface colour?

    Many thanks

I think a mix of stardrops, vinegar and water would work ie a mixture consisting of a third of each.

    ;)
