Happy birthday Mrs Mix, glad its been a good day.

Pippa.....condolences on losing such an old friend...

Have had a really pleasant day to-day, went to DD4's apartment to drop OH as he wanted to rake the grass and tidy up from yesterday, then DD and I went carpet shopping, she eventually settled on one which is allegedly cream but is more of a soft beige, will look well when down, which should be by the end of next week. We then came back and collected OH and the three of us had a lovely Chinese meal, courtesy of OH, he is finding it difficult to spend all his cigarette money, so did we complain!

Just the three of us here to-night and we are going to watch an Irish language film which is just now starting.

Hugs to all in need or want, congratulations to all who are celebrating, welcome to all newbies, thank you all for being my friends

  • :oJust come for a moan
have had a terrible evening with DS and his autism....it just seems as if no matter how hard I try for him nothing is ever good enough.
I try my best to integrate him with everyone else and give him as normal a life as possible...but it never works and sometimes I think it would be easier to just give in and isolate ourselves in an autistic bubble:cool:
The worst thing is I adore my boy more than the world but I can never fully reach him no matter how hard I try....there is always a wall there that I cant get through.
He has settled in bed now and am sure things will look better tomorrow;)
sorry for the rant but had to just get it out :o

  • Hiya all,

Just a quick hi. I've been moving house today - I went to look for a teapot in the charity shops of Bangor to match some lovely blue and white cups that I love but I'm having no luck whatsoever. I will be quickly sneaking off to a carboot sale tomorrow to see whether I'll have any luck there. Can't have a new house and no teapot  It's sacriledge in my family. I'm also looking for a whistling stovetop kettle to save on electricity, especially with ex-Mr Maitane's very bad habit of boiling the electric kettle then forgetting about it and re-boiling it. Anyone have any ideas?

Diva, many thanks for your concern - I'm still waiting to see if my throat will get better (or worse) but yesterday, I tried to .. erm.. sterilise ;) the area with copious amounts of Passoa and lemonade for my friends birthday and Bitsy Beans, I'm half tempted to offer out my spare room to friends of friends and the like who enjoy walking in Snowdonia or just visiting North Wales.
It's a nice room (I have finally finished the curtains for it! Just some cushions and the quilt to go) and the house is a quite traditional miners cottage with amazing views to Tryfan (the deadliest of the peaks due to the Adam and Eve tradition) and the Llyn Idwal area so it's perfect for a bit of context to a visit - almost cultural :D I could be the cultural ambassador for OS in the Peoples' Republic of North West Wales.
NPM - I must say I have an immense amount of admiration for you for the patience and strength you require day to day and I am sure others on the thread feel the same. So feel free to rant! Also, have a hug from me. Not much but a small gesture.

Right, I am off to sing Rule Britannia (in Welsh) despite my Gallic roots! Enjoy the last of your evening everyone.

    Hugs to all,

    Maite.

  • NPM, have a hug as I think you are an amazing lady and well desrve one .My DD works in a special-needs school and I know how hard it is for Mums who like you are trying to do their best for their children. No matter what you adore your son and thats the most important thing in his world, although at times maybe he hasn't the ability to show you how he feels. If it makes you feel a bit better you rant away my dear and no matter what your love and care for your son will never alter
    God Bless you all
