Maitane - your poor throat. Hope it gets better soon.
Well, off for some lunch.

Thanks for the kind regards.. We're tough in the Peoples' Republic of North West Wales and so it's only considered serious if my instant answer to "Fancy heading the pub?" is no.
Speaking of which, I should probably start thinking about washing my hair. I'm going out at 7pm and it'll take at least three hours to get me to 'spring' into action!"We always find something, hey Didi, to give us the impression we exist?" Samuel Beckett, Waiting for Godot.

It's been a busy morning for me, dropped DD2 at pre-sch then went to farm shop for the meat for sunday even though i had bought a BIG chicken at Mr S's for a fiver, DH decided he didn't fancy chicken . Also bought beef mince as i want to make Meatloaf tomorrow wish me luck never made it before.

Afternoon all,
well the case I was on finished so we were allowed out of Jury Service early - so a lovely free afternoon in the sun!
I am just about to go shopping, My DD was awarded £100 Capital Bonds at work for some project that she had done particularly well and as she is short of cash(always!!!!) I bought them off her and now am going to use them, some for grocery shopping (although I am not sure of many shops that take them - will have to look on the website) and some towards Christmas shopping.
Something from freezer for tea as I am still trying to run it down a little - there is some salmon there that will probably do, I find it hard to decide on evening meals when the weather is so pleasant.
Maitane - your throat sounds awfully sore - I hope it improves!
Sistercas - hope the girls are improving at least they have each other for company!
Donnygal - sounds like a great weekend ahead, we are not going off in the caravan this weekend (typical when the weather is so good).
The council put on a concert (called Classical Fantasia) in the ruins of 11 Century abbey (Kirkstall Abbey) in Leeds every year with classical music and fireworks (the 1812 overture accompanied by a great firework display is amazing!!) and it is on tomorrow night. It is one of the highlights of our year (well we don't get out much!:rotfl:) but it is a seriously great evening with picnics, wine, good friends and an amazing atmosphere due to the music and setting and best of all, it is all FREE! How MS is that!!! So I will be baking for that this afternoon - I hope the weather holds over the weekend for it, although it can get chilly when you are sitting there in the evening as it is next to the river. Can't wait.
Speaking of which I have 2 spare tickets if anyone is within travelling distance and wants them - just pm me!
Right off shopping now, catch up later
x"Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"Dieting ........... is no piece of cake!!!!:D

Thoughts here too about 9/11 - and its horrors and its heros. Sending good thoughts to all the families.
Celyn 90 - Thanks for the tip on Heligan - WOW what a place, definitely needs to be added to that someday travel itinerary. The picture of the "lost valley" is art itself. One of my favorite books is called English Cottage Gardens. The author states in the preface that few will ever be able to live on huge estates, but even with a small door yard, the English have managed to create beautiful gardens. Do you garden?"Happiness is a journey, not a destination." Souza;)0 -
Try Wales too. We've got all sorts of incredible stuff. Most importantly, Snowdonia. The US seems to forget us, unless they are an eighth Welsh.
I live in the Snowdonia National Park which is great for OS style days out walking and the like. Not so great when you need a tree pruning and it has to be approved first though."We always find something, hey Didi, to give us the impression we exist?" Samuel Beckett, Waiting for Godot.

thriftlady wrote: »My dd does that too:rolleyes: it's infuriating. She hides all sorts of things -clean clothes, dirty clothes, manky bits from apples, toys, pencils, paper- rather than actually throwing or putting them away. She is sooo lazy. Maybe I should get some more bins.
My son used to do that too. I started to clear it all out and stick it in his bed, under the duvet. He really hated that. Only took about three weeks of it to make him start using the bin.
I went to B&M today while I was waiting for DD to get out of school. It's amazing what you can find there, though of course you do have to watch the dates! Stocked up on Princes tuna and JW anchovies at 49p each, Whiskas pouches at £2 per box and an assortment of other small odds and ends. Spent £15 but it was well worth the vist.
Off to make the curry now...Val.0 -

I have done this for years to my OH. He takes things so far then leaves them. Never puts the mop and pail away he takes it to the garage door. He takes the hoover to the cupboard door. He leaves all sorts of things lying about especially in the kitchen. I take so much then everything and I mean everything, mop and bucket too end up on his side of the bed! Best bit is when I am in bed first and he comes later puts the light out and jumps into everything although he usually clicks when he sees me wobbling like a jelly trying to contain my laughter, waiting on the reaction.... sadly, unlike your son, he has not and dont think will ever, change!
Went to M&S to get £10 deal and looked for the Fish and chip deal mentioned yesterday but no joy. Was it a fresh or frozen?0 -
Good afternoon all!
I too am remembering 9/11 today-we were having handover at work in the patients sitting room when it came on the tv and we all watched horrified. It was hard to be patient with fussy patients that afternoon when something so horrific was happening-it puts life and small troubles into perspective doesn't it.

Wish I'd known about this as I live on the outskirts of leeds, it sounds great but I have someone coming tomorrow evening. Is it a yearly thing?
Maitane-the throat sounds awful-after having an abcessed tonsil a couple of years ago you have my sympathies.
I can't believe where my time has gone this week with dd being at school. I thought I'd have more time but I feel like I've had less as its been so broken up-I've only been in four three hours today and thats been three seperate occasions-perhaps I shouldn't have persuaded my mum to treat me to my lunch!:rotfl: I'm going to have to be more organised next week as I'm back at work tomorrow, monday and wednesday.
Off to walk up the steep hill to collect her again in a few minutes.
Hugs to all that need one.
