  • I can't believe 9/11 was 8 years ago either. Remember being at work and the internet just crashed because it couldn't handle the traffic of people trying to find out news. I must admit in my total ignorance I had no idea what the Twin Towers were but came home and sat open mouthed at the TV in horror. I've avoided watching anything this week in relation to it as I know I'll find it upsetting (can only handle the fluffy stuff since having kids - I bawled my eyes out at Marley and Me :o).

Thinking of everyone that was affected.

Belated Happy Anniversary to Sunnyday and her H. Hope you had a nice day.

Redruby - obviously my DD isn't anywhere old enough yet but if it's still being offered when she comes of age she will be having the jab.

    Hi,
Wow its 8 years since the twin towers. I remember the profound affect it had on my kids.
Sorry I have not posted for a week or so but have been reading and keeping up.
I have sold loads of my books on Amazon and have now got enough for a spending spree or I might save it for christmas. Im really pleased that my work and study books have been recycled and have gone to homes that now need them. I also sold them at a very low price so hope that in this recession I have helped a few people to be old style!!

A nice quiet day today. I was quite unwell yesterday and could not even have my helper as i just had to sleep. Feeling better now. Hope everyone who is poorly or sad are also feeling better. I think i shall catch up on my Poirot. My kids are settling into their new routines. two are now at college which is a long journey but they seem keen.

Hope you all having a good day,
    Molly
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Morning all

I too am amazed that 8 years have passed - it seems like last year! My sister and I went to New York in the March following 9/11 and were there for the St Patrick's Day Parade, in the parade they carried a flag for everyone who had lost their lives in the tradgedy and that was a sight that I will never forget, a sea of flags, made me realise just how many had died, it was truly devastating!

Thoughts and prayers to all who lost loved ones

    Morning everyone:hello:

Another lovely day here in Worcester. Just got my washing out. My machine is playing up:rolleyes: I've got it to work now, but it seems to like a few minutes rest between loads nowadays. I think we'd better get it serviced before it goes phut.

Today I must buy a birthday card for my dear old gran who will be 101 on Tuesday. I'll combine that errand with a trip to the library.

    Foodwise today we have;

Breakfast granola or toast -I was a bit lazy today.

Lunchboxes cheese sandwiches, choc chip cake, apples and plums/grapes

Supper - salmon, green beans, carrots and rice. I'll probably make a oriental style glaze for the salmon.

OH is off to Sixways this evening to watch the Warriors and drink some Guinness so I have a nice bottle of rose in the fridge for later. I'll dig out a favourite movie to accompany it.

  • Morning again everyone

Well todays plan i think is to muster the energy to go for a shower and get out of my pj's!! Then once the ASDA shopping has arrived this morning i will go and spend a bit of time with the horses and will probably clean the chickens out and muck out the field while i'm there. Dogs will get a good run then too without me having to do too much walking.

Then this afternoon i will tackle the rest of my business accounts so i can get on and do my tax return online once my accountant friend has checked everything for me. Also need to do a load of washing and get that out to dry, wipe over kitchen and bathroom and hoover living room. Beyond that i'll see how much energy i have left to tackle the other things on my list.

Lunch, hmm cheese on toast or something i think and for dinner i think i'll do crispy bacony cheesy baked beany jacket potatoes. DH is working really late tonight so i'm home alone :(

Right will have a browse on here and then off for a shower.

Have a good day all and my thoughts today will be with all those affected by 9/11.

I remember the Twin Towers. I read something about it on the internet, went through and found an American news station on the telly and called Hubby through just in time for us to see the second plane hit. We sat there on the sofa open-mouthed and just couldn't belive it.

Hubby phoned last night to say he was bringing a stranded work collegue home to stay overnight tonight, so I've got a perfect excuse not to do the final coat of pain on the door this morning! Instead I'll have to change the sheets and tidy up DS's bedroom a bit (where collegue will be sleeping...DS can sleep in the top bunk in his sister's room) plus a fast hoover round and clean the bathroom. Collegue is a pretty laid back chap and not the kind to notice the odd bit of dust so I'm not going to get paranoid about the state of the house. Hubby and he will probably just crawl off to the pub tonight anyway. I'll make some chicken curry, rice and perhaps some chickpea daal and they can have that whenever.

Other "to do"s are to make 36 rock buns for the rugby club on Sunday and to help DD make a model of one of our local tourist attractions. I have laid in a supply of empty cat food boxes, cereal packets and glue. DD likes doing this sort of stuff and resents interference with her artistic vision, so I'll just leave her to it.

I am feeling full of energy today. Two decent night's sleep in a row!
    Val.

Redruby - my DD bought home the paperwork for the vaccination last night, she wanted it done at the doc's rather than at school but just spoken to them & they dont do it. Def want her to have the injections but dont know how we get it done as she has a needle phobia & can have panic attacks. Think will phone the helpline later.

Had a change of plan so far this morning, hob was looking a bit grotty so have cleaned it, the cooker hood, surrounding tiles and the outside of the oven. Not my favourite job as its stainless steel and I have to massage baby oil (oh er) into it afterwards. Now tis done :jand I am going to clean the outside of the kitchen windows (we have such dirty rain here) and jump in the shower.

Must must must menu plan for next week - am finding it hard to get into this at the moment, might be because the weather is so changeable.

    Offski again.

Edited to say - Just spoken to the helpline and DD is having her first injection done at a health clinic next thurdsay so a few days for her to get prepared

Edited again (keep remembering things) My DD doesnt want to have the injection but knows she should - this is mainly because of poor Jade Goody, have explained that we all have to do unpleasant things in life - should have seen her face when I told her about smears - she wishes sometimes she was a boy!

Don't we all but then we would have to shave everyday and pretend to be useless. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:;)

Sorry not to be posting daily, but struggling for content. belated Anniversary wishes Sunny.

Life is good, but using up the freezer means not a lot of OS prepping going on. Off to Lincoln for the weekend, cheapo weekend, will cost us £4 in total plus fuel and will include Fish & Chip Supper + entertainment on Saturday Night and free food daytime Saturday & Sunday. Check out caravan dealers holding New Caravan Shows/Open Days, they put on allsorts for their potential customers.

(((Hugs))) to Jayward who tooks steps towards changing from her nasty consultant yesterday. Have a great day at Blackpool. :grouphug: to everyone else not on top of the world :grouphug:

    I know you don't do hugs H-J so here's a :p from me;).
    Take care - DG
