What BT told me about Talk Talk offer

i have to agree with payless.. i have never had any problems other than they initially charged me for calls at weekends when they said they wouldnt..
i rang customer services and they immediately credited me with £5 even tho my calls barely came to £2.50
other than that they have been as good as gold and far better then BT

Telephone they are OK, as long as they don't take over your line rental. For broadband they should be avoided like the plague, they really are that bad. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

It's fine while you're with them but if you ever want to leave......that's a totally different matter and then you see the company for what it really is:payless wrote:been with them for over a year ...
better than my previous 2 providers
USELESS IN EVERY ASPECT OTHER THAN ABILITY TO REEL POOR UNSUSPECTING PEOPLE IN!

The BT woman was half right about the dangers of TT. She was chatting rubbish about the transfer process though. Always consult the provider you're moving to for the correct procedure, then ask the provider that you're leaving to try and accomodate that.
IMO, I wouldn't touch TT broadband with a 10' barge pole. If it's going to be any good and "free forever", then why the need for the 18 month contract? C'mon people, aren't those alarm bells ringing yet? It's not rocket science.

Ive said it before, been with talktalk for BB and landline for 2 years no complaints whatsoever, download regularly, never ever cut off, web browsing is fast enough and see no reason (so far) to complain.0

the BT Employee wasnt talking rubbish about the transfer process. Infact she's bang on correct.
Talk talk are planning on using LLU (Local Loop Unbundling) for their services, ie. they run & manage the phone line in the exchange. You cannot migrate a service over from a BT Rented Broadband service (which is what majority of the ISPs do, rent broadband from BT & then resell it) to a LLU line. It needs to be ceased & then reprovided at the Talk Talk end.0 -

I have various lines with them , and yes some of them I have moved ( so far no problems, but who knows) yes had a couple of billing problems , but I also came out the good after they gave me goodwill payment.Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
Heh. They caused me hell and agony and lots of anger but I never got a goodwill payment even though I asked for it. I hate them and will never ever ever ever ever go back to them (unless it is to sponge off some free all for nothing offer)payless wrote:I have various lines with them , and yes some of them I have moved ( so far no problems, but who knows) yes had a couple of billing problems , but I also came out the good after they gave me goodwill payment.

Ditto. I was quite happy but when I first learnt about MSE, I realised I could get cheaper.dounome wrote:Ive said it before, been with talktalk for BB and landline for 2 years no complaints whatsoever, download regularly, never ever cut off, web browsing is fast enough and see no reason (so far) to complain.
Now I've seen the dark side, very dark side of TT and want to warn as many people as possible. There were just too many problems all the way down the line from requesting a MAC code to the final bill for it to be coincidental.0 -
Sorry, old bean, but I've worked the last 3 years for an ISP doing provisioning, and unless those thousands of orders were in my head, it's possible to migrate to LLU. A MAC isn't needed if the LLU isn't SMPF though, but the BT person didn't give appropriate advice and probably over-stepped the mark. But then if I was working in retention I'd probably like to scare people too.normanmark wrote:the BT Employee wasnt talking rubbish about the transfer process. Infact she's bang on correct.
