I had the misfortune to have TalkTalk broadband, it was a terrible service then, that was when people were paying full whack, it can only be worse when it's free.
OK if you want constant dropped connections, OK if you don't want to use the internet much, OK if you don't want to download, OK if you don't mind their email system being flaky (though the wise amongst would use a domain name / email service) OK if you don't mind slow web browsing, all in all TalkTalk broadband should be avoided at all costs. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

:ditto:
AFAIK you can migrate in to a LLU service from a non-LLU service, but you cannot migrate from one LLU service to another LLU service. That requires 'cease and reprovide'.
I know this as I have just transferred from BTw TalkTalk to Be (LLU). Now I cannot migrate to another LLU service without having this one disconnected and then ordering a new service. But 12MBps...

normanmark wrote:the only thing you're saying im not right in saying is that Talk Talk are using rented BT Lines until their LLU issues are sorted out. Which i never even mentioned about them renting lines until the LLU's ready, if you read back.
I'm open to see proof where they're going to use something else before this LLU situation is sorted out. But somehow i doubt a company as big as Talk Talk will be up for loosing money by paying for rented lines AND bandwidth with a third party (BTWholesale).
The BT Customer Service Rep was telling the truth in saying that if you're not in an LLU enabled area then the customer would be paying £30.99. £20.99 + £9.99 for the broadband (not living in an LLU enabled area)
norman you are spot on.
my father and his girlfriend were adamant they wanted to go for TT with me warning them not to.
when they rang up TT were gave them 2 options
- pay the 20.99 but no bb until July
- pay the addtional for non LLU bb
what a joke !0 -
ANYONE that goes to TT will wish they had not..
Trust me.. its not worth it if you have BB allready!0 -
been with them for over a year ...
better than my previous 2 providersAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0
