:hello::o I'll be fine for next week, I'm sure. Its just annoying, and slightly embarrassing. My mum always told me to take my elbows off the table
but I always did the sitting-up-straight biz naturally, cos I had to do lots of ballet cos I had flat feet and couldn't walk far.

Virgin Media.... let me count the ways..........
There was a survey request from them in my inbox yesterday, and frankly I let rip with both barrels - my previous posts on here earlier this year about "middle class snotty" come to mind. Well, they just phoned me, and a guy took me through some of the complaints I had. Upshot is that he found me an account that would give me free phone calls to 01, 02 and 03 numbers 24/7, instead of evenings and weekends as previously, and for £3 a month less than I'm paying now. And because of all the hassle, he'd give me a further £15 credit, and there's a £3 refund on the current non-contract.
But nothing's free. My business partner had been here when I took the call, so I just opened up my virgin.net email account to tell him the good news - and its been disabled. I used it to send some emails this morning, so I know it was working a few hours ago, and I can't believe its not related. But I phoned the free Virgin 150 number anyway, and got through to a section about email problems. And then I got one of their faux-cheery messages telling me that the wait was more than 20 minutes, and they **disconnected** me.
I give up. I have a fair bit of work this afternoon, I don't know if I have the time or the emotional energy to deal with this organisation all over again. My feeling of euphoria lasted all of 5 minutes.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I tried again this evening - still can't log on, and now there's a signal to phone them. And when I do - they disconnect me again. Lovely.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

_pale__pale__pale_ Well. That was unexpected. My Virgin email address has disappeared, for good. I've had it for about 13 years. Its related to my switch from phone broadband to cable broadband, not to the work that was done yesterday. Nobody thought to tell me, of course, and the guy on the phone (who spoke too quickly and too softly, thus extending the call by about 40%, as I had to ask him to repeat himself and slow down for most of the things he said) was continually trying to get me to open a Virgin Media email address, couldn't understand it when I said I didn't want it. I've checked they have my hotmail and yahoo addresses, and thats it. I can't believe its just gone! I'm really shocked, actually. And its the address all my clients contact me on. Its on my website. Its going to give me a hell of a piece of work. I don't think I'm going to forgive Virgin for this. Compensation offered? The princely sum of £5. Virgin has made so many mistakes, and needed to refund me and compensate me so much, I'm not going to be paying a bill for weeks.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Martin's headline of "consumer revenge" is *really* appealing to me today. I know I should have bigger things on my mind, with it being Armistice Day, but ..... thats the way it is. I feel *so* petty.
Well. Time to get over it, I guess. The bloke I spoke to yesterday said they'd be sending me another survey to fill in - I know what I'll be saying to them.
A little bit of good news - I could get back in to virgin bingo and tab today, for some reason - obviously, with virgin in particular, I'll be stinging them for everything I can get. And BB have finally sent me most of last week's winnings, so I sent £25 to my debt fund account, that felt good. Another square about to be coloured in.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Sorry to read that you have been on the receiving end of such shoddy service. It really is quite appalling, and to lose your business email contact is horrific!
Good news on the debt pot/square colouring in though.
How's your aches and pains after yesterday's stumble?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hi Hypno - yep, the service has been terrible, its completely disrupted my morning and all the accounts work I was going to be doing, I just haven't been able to concentrate. I've opened a google email for work, but now I'll have to go update the webpages, and I hate doing that, and I'll also have to email every client who's ever emailed me. Sigh......
The stumble... well, my foot doesn't hurt so much, but I really don't want to go tonight, and it *is* still hurting. Once work is done and a few other bits and bobs, I think I need a long hot soak.........
see you later
