still exchanging emails with the guy I sold the mega-expensive SF litcrit book to
    did i miss this??

    tv series
often when a new series comes out the stations buy in with the uk stations,,,as they cant buy it themselves,,,and get 1st show rights,,,usually only a few days ahead,,
you have to remember the big cities here all have cable,,,add in sky,,,so can see uk tv,,,
so why bother watching irish tv,,,
if your not into,,,politics, football, bad day time shows,, you can live without irish tv..
take those shows out and your looking at uk,,usa,,tv

however every now and then they come up trumps...
champions lge and international irish matches live,
irish versions of the apprentice and dragons den,,
they also carry the big shows,,ant and dec,,,x factor, soaps,as 60% of the country relay on rte and tv3...they dont do a bad job in a very hard market

I think it may have been when you were AWOL, Shaun :rotfl: I had a book about Babylon 5 up on Amazon for £30, and a bloke in Vancouver (Vancouver!!!! SF TV capital of the world!) wanted to buy it, he paid instantly on paypal.

Thats a very good idea. I really do need to update my telecoms, don't I? :rotfl: I'm having a push on the Accounts so I *might* be able to finish them on Monday, then I'll do the phones - this is a silly amount of money to be paying.

Oh good grief yes - I don't even want to do that much on Britain, they don't seem to have an active chatroom so I'm very happy to just ignore it :o Like DT, I think the chatroom on KJ is actually quite nice sometimes, tho I saw some real nasty bullying on there one time.

Sob.... but I don't understand them! I really have no clue what they're on about. Give us a hint, gwan, gwan, you know you want to!

Ahem. And I just won £15 on BB - can't withdraw for about three quarters of an hour yet, so I've only spent £4 of my bonus.

    Sorry Bob :D

And I've just had an email from the Vancouver guy - the book has arrived with him. But the post office hasn't got round to bringing me the tape that Shaun has sent me (***despair***)

I'm going to leave the paypal money where it is at the moment - might be able to get away with using it for something Christmassy, and so not pulling it into my system.

Good news that the paypal account is building up nicely! Well done on the BB win - I tend to get the diddly amounts because I play so early in the morning and might win a line at £2 or so but it is all adding up, and for the sake of a few mins "work" it is really not so bad!

    Have a good day!

Thanks hypno! Just the week before, I'd got my paypal account up to date - I had two, by accident, and one of them was in US$ for some unknown reason. The intention was to put little stuff on ebay, and I might well still do that, but the accounts work, so I can get the lower rate of VAT, takes priority of course.

And today, I'm off to Horsham for the Egyptian Artefacts Handling Day, and try to see the temporary exhibition its related to. And I want to go to a couple of towns en route, bit of shopping, and most importantly pop in to H Heath, and have a look round the area thats really close to both the station and the centre.
