:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: what a wonderful riff to wander into :j:j:j

    I had to *start* it with a straight face, didn't I :D

Not doing anything on it till tomorrow, so thats still a no-no. I really hope I don't have to have a new aerial as well - they used to use this one, the previous owners, so lets hope with the aerial connector thingy, all will be well.

As I just mentioned on Pippi's diary, I'm wondering about applying for a census job, tho its so late in the day - I'm *going* to be well by March/April, but will I also be earnings thousands with the trading, and so completely uninterested in £10 an hour :D although actually, even if I was earning proper money from the trading, its still a really good way to get to know parts of my new town. I think I'll go ahead and do the first stage, it can't hurt.

Spent yesterday evening watching a dvd of the first part of Day of the Triffids, excellent, and preliminary sewing on the summer duvet I cut up a while back to put on my new office-bed. I'll do the rest (on both :D) today. Plus some window cleaning, I think, its reached the stage where I really have to start that.

Go for it with the census job - if for some reason you can't do it when it gets to the time, then there's always the option to pull out (erm, dodgy choice of phrase considering previous posts :rotfl:)

EDIT - right, done the application - and confessed my "driving without lights" conviction of 1975 as a dodgy student on a dodgy moped :D:o it *is* a motoring offence, after all....

Um 1975, nothing else since, actually KC I think you only need to put down anything in the last 10 years but I think they will let you off on that one :D

I must admit the thread brought back memories of having to go to plumbers merchants as a teenager, and hoping I didn't get the one's behind the counter who were into every inuendo possible. It was so much better when you could go to B&Q etc., and just put them into the basket :o

This is great, thank you - I often wonder if I have a yeast thing as well, but I don't think I do, actually. I might have to get this book!

:rotfl: I never went to a plumber's merchant as a teenager, no way no how! But I do remember when things changed for veg shops - you didn't have to be served any more, you could take stuff off the shelves and then pay - so many millions of people must have been employed as shop assistants!

I've just had a near-freakout about my arthritis appointment - turns out I had one on the 11th November ... but I didn't know! After mutterings about me being referred back to my GP - which would be difficult, as I *still* don't currently have one (don't tell me off, I know I should) - they've given me an appointment on 7th Jan. Which, considering its now 8th, is not *too* bad.

Oh. Its the 8th December. John Lennon died 30 years ago. I remember where I was: renting a room in Hackney, plotting to buy my first flat, and crying my eyes out in front of my little black and white tv at all the John Lennon programmes .... RIP John.
