    So what do they come out like when you type them?

    Just as the actual text. If I use DS laptop it works fine, I think its the way this thing translates the keys.

    For example if I try to do bold by doing ctrl and b, it comes up with some chinese characters called ping yang or something.

    Reply to this message and make sure "Disable smilies in text" isn't selected. It's down from here about 4 inches... ;)

    The control keys are a different matter. You may have a program running that will intercept them. Some browsers pass them through to the javascript editor, and some don't - keeping them for their own use.

    Pretty much pot-luck alas.

    :eek: You poor thing! Of course, the other element thats untrue about my original statement is the glass of wine ... I always think it sounds so nice, but I'm much more likely to have a cup of tea :o

    In other scintillating news .... you remember that conversation about mystery shopping on the last page or so? Add "stupidity" to the problems. The assignment notes I received clearly state that the unit has one name, and is called another on the receipt. So I go ahead, and now I've got a proofreading query saying that the unit is named differently from what I've got on the receipt :rotfl:

    I'll only be on another 5 mins, builders are here, time to move the laptop to safety. Hope everyone has a good couple of days.

    They've cancelled on the day twice, but I'm hoping today's the day :) same problems here as there, I think! But between weather dependency, illness and jobs taking longer than scheduled, I can understand it - and he's fitting in to my weird diary, which is a big plus.

    Right. Shutting down now :hello::hello::hello:
