Thanks Fay, that means a lot! The list on the last post has been done, except for taping up the two boxes - I'd call that a result. There's also a bamboo blind in the garage, one of those where the bamboo strips are half an inch wide, not the teensy tiny ones - its got a backing of material on it, cos when I first bought it, I used it as curtains - I cut that off and threw it away. And I took down my present curtains, which are what's in the washing machine - and then I found out what a lazy cow I really am :j:rotfl::j rejoicing in my lazy cowness here - all 3 curtains have blackout lining - two are hemmed with tacking, and one is hemmed with dressmaker's pins, I'm not kidding :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0

My blackout lining is stuck on with sticky back velcro strategically placed; much as I like dressmaking, I hate sewing curtains, and nobody can see them! Same goes for the loose covers on the settee too.

Its good, innit
Velcro - I've got two bits of wall with *loads* of Velcro, left on from when I tried to stick up kilims and it didn't workI was chatting with Wol about it, and then checked out yahoo answers - result! a putty knife, a hairdryer, and lots of time
I'll have to get going on that tomorrow, actually, and experiment.
I'm getting a bit tired now - going to watch an SF thing on dvd before QI .....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Thanks Taxi! I feel like I have - after I'd swept the parts of the garage I could reach, it was finally looking really different. The removal men quoted for it as being .25 of a garage contents to move - and now it looks like I might just get away with itHave fun but watch the hands holding the scraper, mine go really stiff and painful from gripping x
Good point. I won't be gripping it very hard, tbh - I'll let the hairdryer do the work. Which reminds me - when you use a steam stripper on wallpaper, you have to be careful not to damage the plaster. I suppose thats hotter than a hairdryer, and *wet* too, but still .... lots and lots of time is called for
I can't quite be bothered thinking about my list for today at the mo, it might be mostly cleaning in the kitchen (its all deep clean stuff, fairly greasy in there) and the hairdryer/velcro as above, but while I was rummaging about on mse yesterday look at this saying that I found:
"You're a great friend, but if the zombies chase us, I'm tripping you."

Wishing you many good vibes and energy today - less zombies of course
And, wouldn't a true friend trip themselves up to let the zombies get them and let you get away?

Thanks Squizz. I was thinking yesterday evening, tho - I was clearing out these little cubbyhole things in the garage - its not even my tut, it was there when I bought the place - if I'd treated the place like this when I was living here, it would never have got into this state. I remember planning for the garage to be a sort of workshop for biggish craft-type stuff when I moved in, and I hardly followed through at all.
