Oopsie, I never got my sit down in the sun - never got round to cleaning the patio furniture to do it
Instead I:
- tidied up all 3 bedrooms, and living room, in preparation for surveyor tomorrow.
- swept the porch
- dealt with some of the grass choking the perennials at the front.
- cleaned under the sink properly, and cleaned the open plastic boxes - just got to get everything back under there now.
- got up to date with magazine decluttering - damn professional mags keep turning up
- got all the recyling down to the garage.
- potted up some little plantpots to take strawberry runners from some volunteers that have emigrated from elsewhere in the garden
- swept the patio
- did all the washing up.
washed my hair and had a bath straightaway I'd finished - so I wasn't sweeping soil up long enough for my allergies to be triggered, so I'm very happy :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
That sounds very productive..well done.Must look really nice now.0

Thanks Taxi - it looks okay - truth is, the basics just aren't there for it to look *nice*
but that has worked to my advantage this afternoon. I have a huge fennel plant, plus its self seeded some that are now about 2 - 3 years old. No chance of digging them up, their roots will be in the subsoil now. But I just found a tiny one in the front garden (the seed must have carried from the back somehow). Its obviously new this year, so I'll be taking it up tomorrow, and putting it in a pot. I'm really pleased about that
The other thing I'm pleased about is completely accidental - most of this house is really hot, because its south facing near the top of a south facing hill, it gets so much sun its ridiculous, and I can't sleep because of it. The back of the house just doesn't get the sunI've just realised the new house faces east - I have blackout blinds to deal with the early morning sun, but the afternoon sun will be on the other half of the house, so my bedroom will be okay to sleep in. Its hard to express how relieved I am about this :j

That is a really good point KC...it's awful trying to sleep in a hot room.0

Hi KC, sorry about the bad sleep be but hopefully that will improve now you've done that paperwork.
Been away working, still no cheque and now they owe even more. Starting to get me down as we didn't even get any kind of thanks for our hardwork and it doesn't take much to say 2 simple words, does it
The info on the seeds is great. We are hoping to turn the garden round this year without too much cost and I tried to grow a few things last year but need to read up a bit more as I lost strawberries to birds through not netting them, and I planted too many radishes together so they grew long and thin as not enough room in the pot.
Lots to do again today. Need to jump in the shower and write a list me thinks. Hope you got on OK trading today.0 -
Morning - cuppa in hand - just catching up not really been online most of the weekend!
Great about stray seedlings and cooler bedrooms!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Morning! I think, of the plants that the birds like, I might grow some for them, and some for me
then I won't feel guilty about netting and whatnot (I'm like that, guilty about dumb things
).
Trading - thank you for the thought! I've been watching, ready, but no system trades this morning, writing down what I think about a partial/contradictory signal really helps, and my contract with myself was to stop at 9am today - the surveyors are coming any time from 10 onwards, and I want to clean the bathroom, kitchen etc, beforehand.
Today, thats what there mostly is:
- getting ready for the surveyors
- getting my own survey under way finally
- mystery shop phone call to do this afternoon
- 2.5 hours paid work tonight
- some work emails to do.
- some more cutting back in the garden.
I'm not going to pot up that little baby fennel plant today - its supposed to reach nearly 30 degrees in the south  I'll let it be in the soil, and just check on it from time to time
EDIT
**waves at Fay**
DOUBLE EDIT: sods law is hearty and hale, I see! Trading system signal popped up at 9am, 17 points, thank you very much and goodnight. Ah well, it works, thats all I can say about that. Any more and the typeface would be blue2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Sounds like you are really getting sorted that is great news. We have an east facing house and really enjoy the sun in the morning and on our patio until about lunchtime. Then it moves to the front of the house so we have a nice sunny lounge. We do sit a lot in the garden but have a Chimera to keep us warm as the sun will have gone by the evening totally.

Hi TallGirl! How nice to see you! Good to know about the east facing being so pleasant - it *will* be nice to get it in the living room first thing. The house I'm going to is on top of a very slight rise - the back garden dips away from the house by maybe two feet, and its just gardens beyond, so there's no obstruction or valley or anything, so the afternoon / evening sun will be there, which is really nice.
I *am* getting sorted, you're right - once I've moved, its the mortgages I'll be focussing on.
The trading is complicated, but I've thought about it for a long time - I'm ready now2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Nationwide, however, have bollixed things up for me good and proper - the guy who took my telephone application for porting the mortgage should have taken payment for the survey, and he didn't. I think its because we had the little contretemps about the STD code numbers, so after I rang the surveyors and begged them pretty please to fasttrack, because of a mistake by Nationwide, I logged on to the Nationwide website and made a complaint. The guy is entitled not to like me, he's even entitled to misunderstand me, but if he delays my mortgage application for ten days minimum like that, he gets a complaint, no two ways about it.
I've had something to eat, so my blood sugar will be reasonable again, and now I'm going to have some half-caff. And breathe .........2023: the year I get to buy a car0
