That must be another Scotland/England system difference - up here you put your preferred date in as part of your formal offer. There may be a bit of a compromise between seller and buyer's favoured dates but it is about the 2nd thing that is formally agreed (1st being accepting the offer price)! I think my moving date was decided on the same day my offer was accepted on my current flat! :D

It must be taka - everything is so uncertain here, I'm surprised there hasn't been reform over the last 5 years anyway, but it would be a *huge* thing to do - maybe they wanted to leave well enough alone, while the boom was on.... I wonder if they'll ever be able to reform it, there must be a lot of vested interest in keeping it this way, not least from the lawyers

Hooray for the trade - one step at a time is good, maybe a bit longer next time?

Spot on Squirrel! Thats where the money will come - I'm just pleased to have broken the drought of not-clicking. And it felt normal, and I didn't get an adrenaline overload from doing it. There was a huge trade within my system on a foreign exchange thing I look at, but frankly it was so big I didn't see it - 68 points :D:cool:

I'm a bit frantic today cos there's a fair bit of extra work around, and commitments I've made, and I have to fit them all in today, so I'm not concentrating on the trading in the same way I was yesterday. Its not going to be perfect, thats life.

My to-do list is on track - 5 ticks out of 19

It was long, sigh ........ I've done the things that *had* to be done today - voted :D, mystery shops and inputting, that sort of thing.

Still haven't sent El her book :( haven't sorted solicitors for the house move, no more ebay yet, loads of washing up still sitting there, session notes need sorting. Sigh ........

I finished the inputting about 15 minutes ago and really, that is *that*, I need to flake out - bought some Victoria Sponge from Tesco, which I adore, so I'll have a chunk of that :p

    Night all!

Morning KC, hope you enjoyed the cake - it is good!

Thats a long list but I know I need to be writing one today, as lots to do over the next few days, and I don't want to forget anything.

Good luck finding a decent solicitor, my sisters was so bad she ended up doing lots of phone calls herself and didn't pay them the full bill  yet ours (ok 15 years ago) was fab.

You're welcome to some sponge - it gave me an upset stomach, or maybe the too-busy day did. This morning, I'm dosed up with paracetemol and anti-diahor.... however you spell it :o Absolutely shattered, and my estate agent *really* wants to know who my solicitors are. I'll be onto that in a mo, after all its long term but its really important. And I need to find out if the people I'm buying from have offered on the place they were seeing last night.

I did fit in a trip to Tesco last night, and I've already steamed my tatties to take with me for today, and done my scratches, so at least I'm a little bit forward.

Done the solicitor deal - how do people cope with this when they have a 9-5 job? Twice, I had people on both lines! All done now, tho, and I *think* the next thing is to contact my mortgage provider about a survey, but I'll speak to my estate agents/solicitors about that.

Off to London soon, via the washing up. Hope everyone has a good day, I'm closing down here.
