Bother. Best laid plans and all that. Signal at 9am, I'd currently be in profit, but was completely distracted by emergency phone call from client..... is the universe trying to tell me something? And where's the confused smiley?
I quite like this one, I may adopt it
Alarm is going off again. Whoosh, off I go....
EDIT - profit would've been 6 or 7 points. Hey ho.
SECOND EDIT - oh *** I cannot tell a lie. Second distraction - and I can remember when it happened. Time now is 1008 - second signal at 10am, currently 16 points in profit. And where was I? Heading up to my storage on the top floor, looking for batteries for the camera so I could take photos for these dratted ebay listings. Drat, drat and drat, just about sums it up. There's a folksong about lessons for the learning, grrr.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Final profit on the missed 10am deal would've been 14 points - a daily total of 20 or 21 points after costs, exactly what my target is. Oh well, that'll learn me.
In other news - I just completed my first ebay listing! Handily, because I've bought stuff on ebay in the past, I have a little star already. And its all linked up to my paypal account, so I'm good to go. I should make anything between 61p and 89p, can't work out which, as paypal say they charge between 1.4 and 3.4%. Erm, hang on. For something that costs less than £3? I've got the decimal point in the wrong place on the potential paypal charge. Okay! That takes the potential profit up another 10p or so - and since I'm at the computer anyway (don't need the batteries, I scanned it, less bother:o:o) I'm good to go.
All systems need to be ironed out:o:o

Right, calling it a day now - my feet are quite chilly, I'm going for a walk round the block to warm up and get some air. I've listed 3 mags on ebay - can't believe its taken me this long to get round to doing that. Its an easy thing to do while waiting for my trading signals to ping, as well - and its in lots of little bits, doesn't matter if I break off because I'm trading. Happy bunny here.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Morning KC, all that trading points etc sounds scary
I have done ebay in the past, but we have quite a lot of heavy toys so will car boot instead for the majority of the clutter as people won't like the postage rates.
Hope you get to offer on the bungalow or your house today!0 -

Thank you, it is! I'm on the trading again, and was here for 6.45 - but the move happened unusually early, at 6.15 - no chance of me being fully aware by that time of day!shaun40400 wrote: »morning kc

Thanks Squizz - the house is lovely. I don't *know* the bungalow at all, I just love the detached-ness of it, and the location. I just rang to check if it was on the market again, and its not, but that estate agent has a semi just round the corner from it (nice road, very nice area) that has a separate room at the bottom of the garden, heat and light and everything, that I could work in. They only got instructions on Friday, so I've given them till lunchtime to get back to me on it. They were quoting £250-260k, and my absolute max would be £250k, so we'll see.Re the second job, you know you can do this well can you try to block out distractions - can you switch your phone off for half an hour?
About the emergency phone call yesterday? It so rare to get a phone call like that, I don't feel the need. And if a long term client phones at that time of day on a bank holiday, well, they really *need* to speak to me, its not a light thing. Plus there's a belt and braces thing going on. If my computer freezes, or the electricity goes down (which happens in this area, for 20-30 minutes at a time occasionally - more often than that sort of phone call anyway :rotfl:) I need to be able to call the dealing desk and shut the trade down right away. The time it takes to turn the phone on might be the time where the market goes completely the wrong way for me.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
