Ooh, lots of news. The first bit first - Pippajo, I've been trying to screw up my courage to spreadbet for years, I have a carefully worked out system that trades at an 80% success rate as recommended, but I never actually press the button. And its time to suck it and see - I'm giving myself this month to start making a profit, as opposed to the money just sitting in the account, because if I can't press the button in a month, I need to do other things with that time. So, 7-11 every weekday, unless I have a prior appointment, I'm at the computer - no frolicking about on mse, I'm working.

The dogs - DT, I know exactly what you mean - my heart sank when I realised..... and if there was an available detached property in my price range, I'd go for it in a heartbeat. There is one, but its in a chain of 7 at the moment - I'll phone on Tuesday morning, because if its available again, I'll have it like a shot.

Because ... ta-da ..... I have an offer. A formal offer, formally accepted. For £267.5k - within a tiny little whisper of what the estate agent (and Wol!) said it would get.

The dogs tho ... there's somebody in nearly all the time, because there's three of them and they all have different working patterns. And the atmosphere of the house is so completely different from anything else, its so open and pleasant .... when I think of the other one, the other semi that is, my heart sinks ..... and thats definitely no way to move into a house.

So, things are really going to happen. I'm not going to stress - whatever happens, I'm moving forward now, and I just have to keep going and let it all work itself out, helping along the way of course :j

Now, time to go with your gut feeling on a new house - I am sure it won't let you down :D

Thanks! I love that house, I really do. And my sister's reaction was interesting too - "I can see why you like it" - yep! Nuff said. I'd still take the detached one over it, if it became available, but only because I already know the road its in ..... so I'm a happy bunny tonight - scared, of course, its a big thing - but happy.

Ta muchly! I keep thinking, what else can I chuck out? The 2nd bedroom isn't as big, there's no garage, and no "dressing room" as I have at present. It will be glorious to have less **stuff**, and to have a house thats done up really nicely - the whole thing is nice, but the bathroom in particular is to die for ....and the garden's flat, I'll be able to garden! I can't wait !

What wonderful news about your offer :beer:

I am sure you will sort the right house too :j:j

Spreadbetting (I am going to put a spanner in the works so be warned :o)

You have been debating this for ages I know I have been reading and mentally urging you to get on with it BUT is now really the best time you will be so busy with moving stuff and as you have already felt it is a very stressful time do you really want to add more stress to that.

I really want you to succeed with this and if it all goes horribly wrong because of what is happening around you you will never touch it again - so could it wait until you are settled in your new home ........... right I am scuttling off please feel free to ignore the above because you know what is right for you

AND I AM REALLY PLEASED YOU HAVE SOLD YOUR HOUSE :T:T:T:T

Spreadbetting (I am going to put a spanner in the works so be warned :o) You're well named, you are :rotfl:

You have been debating this for ages I know I have been reading and mentally urging you to get on with it BUT is now really the best time you will be so busy with moving stuff and as you have already felt it is a very stressful time do you really want to add more stress to that. I know what you mean, actually, I really do. But I'm never not busy - its the accounts, or helping my sister, or going up to Liverpool when my dad was ill, or Christmas, or being ill, the garden, the house, selling, buying. Its always something. Once I move, it will be settling into the new house, getting it straight, maybe painting a wall or two, starting to make roots in the new town.

I really want you to succeed with this and if it all goes horribly wrong because of what is happening around you you will never touch it again - so could it wait until you are settled in your new home ........... right I am scuttling off please feel free to ignore the above because you know what is right for you. Thing is, I'm genuinely holding to the axiom "only use money you can afford to use" - I have 3 accounts that I put money into ages ago, and that all contain bonus money for doing a certain number of bets - so about 30% of it all isn't even my own money. All the accounts have been open for a number of years,

AND I AM REALLY PLEASED YOU HAVE SOLD YOUR HOUSE :T:T:T:T Thank you again! :kisses3:

DT, you know what this reminds me of? Dumbledore's speech at the end of one of the early Harry Potter books, when Neville gets housepoints for standing up to Harry, Ron and Hermione - it takes courage to stand up to one's enemies, it takes much more to stand up to our friends. I really appreciate your taking the time to do that :kisses3::kisses3::kisses3:

All of this is in operation in a mini-way next week: Monday is a bank holiday, Tuesday I'm busy in the day and then going out to a debate in the evening, Wednesday I'll be tired after the debate, Thursday I've got a client at 10.30 (towards the end of trading time) and Friday I'm working in London.

There was a saying that came to mind as I was writing this, and I googled it; here it is:

“If I am not for myself, then who will be for me? And if I am only for myself, then what am I? And if not now, when?”
Rabbi Hillel was one of the most influential scholars in Jewish history.

Have no idea what spread betting is - is it through normal bookies or is it stocks and shares (((shruggy smiley))
