Does anyone really believe that buying a patio heater is going to kill the planet ? :rotfl:
Global warming is happening, but there is nothing anyone on this planet can do about it.
It is a natural phenomen, and the temperature of the earth has been changing since the planet first evolved long before humans were on earth, and long before cars and patio heaters :rotfl:0 -
Does anyone really believe that this buy-it-now offer is only for one single patio heater? :rotfl:
Global warming is a natural phenomenon but is also an artificial one. Saying that because it has a natural component means that it doesn't have an artificial one as well either shows a fundamental inability to think straight or shows a very deep level of denial.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
Are these any better than a chimenea? I've been thinking of getting a chimenea.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Hi, my wife and I are thinking of buying a Patio Heater. Due to the fact that hot air rises I am not convinced that these things can really be effective. Can anyone who owns one give any feeback as to how good they are please, and do you have to sit very close to the tower to feel heat? TIA.0

Depends on how windy it is.
On a still evening - we can feel ours from about 10feet away - too hot to sit under. On a breezy day, you have to sit closer - we have always found it well worth it! Like someone said - extends the time you can sit out well into the evening - safer than a chimnea if you have todlers as they wont fall onto it!!...However - those of us about 6foot tall with less hair on top may feel the heat a little too much if sat near then standing up too quickly after a beer or 5 !! Remeber - 14kw is VERY hot if you get too close!!0 -

They are not - that's why you have to waste 14kW to keep one or two people warm. They have a simple reflector for radiant heat from the flames; all the rest is just lost.Jamie wrote:Due to the fact that hot air rises I am not convinced that these things can really be effective.
14kW is about how much it takes to heat an average house...Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
