  • sami that sounds lovely ( and cheap ;) )

scruffy, I had advanced CIN 3 cells removed last year and had 3/4 of my cervix. I now have to have one every 6 months for the next 3 years or until I get 2 clear results in a row. This is why I am so keen on everyone having a smear. There was only a couple of years between my last 2 ad the cells had grown very quickly. I was told that there was approx 6 - 8 months of growth left before the cells would have turned to cancer cells and would have been spread too far.

i was warned everytime i went on it about the side effects and if i really wanted to go on it x
    :)Still searching .....:)
  • Poor you MM. I'm not looking forward to that bit! I used to miss a few days of school each month when I was a teenager, so I know what you're going though :(

Re BF - I'm going to carry on going for as long as she still interested (within reason... if she's started school it might be time to stop ;) ). I'll be able to feed at night still after I go back to work, but we will see how it works out during the day. I don't think we will fit in a morning feed before leaving the house on nursery days. If my supply carries on enough for me to feed in the daytime when I'm around I will for as long as she is interested. I kind of hope it will work till she is 1 at least. Apart from the health benefits, she won't take a bottle or a sippy cup, and it'll take ages to get her to drink 210ml of formula 3 times a day (which is what the carton says she should be on by now!). My Mum keeps telling me that both me and my brother had stopped by now when we were babies. I obviously make tasty milk ;)

Sami - I love the Lakes - will you be going to Cartmel and sampling the sticky toffee pudding?

I have a huge spider running round my floor that DH is refusing to catch for me - I'm shuddering as I type
I've not heard of this pudding??

:eek:it is a husbands duty to protect his wife from creepies!

I'm off to bed night all xx

MM I have to go for another smear soon - I had colposcopy in the early stages of being pregnant with Alex (due to a second smear showing abnormalities) but they were happy there wasn't enough to be concerned about so just said to have a normal smear I think it was 6 months after having Alex... Must check that really :)

I guess if there is any chance of cancer then we might have to revisit the "when or whether to have a 2nd child" conversation because unless we have one soonish we might not get a say in it IYSWIM... So it's something I can't forget even if I wanted to...

  • Mrs T, Dylan was more than just a shock to us, as we were told that as so much of my cervix was removed, it probably would over heal itself and not allow sperm through, so we would have a low chance of conception. I was pregnant 5 months later ;) I have no idea if it just hadnt healed by then and I may now be totally closed over as I didnt give birth so no one checked !!

I was on it a while both times before I put weight on - and then it piled on in the space of literately 3 months... (they used to weigh you each time - assume they still do :) ) According to their scales I gained 1st 12lb in just under 12 weeks... up until then I'd had no weight gain for about 2 years - if anything I'd lost a bit... My issue with Depo is once you've had the jab you can't have it removed like the implant - but you CAN get exactly the same hormone in pill format that you can take without breaks if you speak to your GP :) so same effect of no period but IF you suddenly pile on weight you can immediately stop taking it instead of having it in your system for another x weeks :)
Only reason I'd suggest it now is if someone is repeatedly forgetting to take pills :)

  • ps - Sami, I've never been to the lakes. Quite a long way from here though!

I've had a letter through about booking a smear. Need to go and get it done with. I never had a problem with smears before, they don't bother me. But at the mo, it's a bit scary! Less scary than not going for one though - i need to get a grip.

Right now I need to go to bed though. Night all.

Right - bedtime for Mummy T - Alex didn't have a huge bed bottle tonight from daddy so betting you £1 I'll get woken up at 4am... *sigh* why can't my child take from my side and need LOADS of sleep?

  • Ladybird - I have a cut off date in mind and it's well before school age. We only fit in a morning feeds as she clambers into bed at silly o'clock and helps herself. I think she is getting ready to drop the morning one as it's getting later and later the time that she comes into bed.
