    Hi Tigs

    How's Andrew doing?

Sorry for the delayed reply, but we're up at SCBU every afternoon!

Andrew's okay, blood tests today have come back with low Hg levels so he's having another blood top-up, hopefully that'll also help reduce the number of de-sats when he's off the Cpap device. He now weighs 1lb14oz, and they're increasing his feed to 7ml/hr to try and build him up faster.

I got my (eBay'd) Medela Mini today, so I don't have to hand-pump EBM every time, my right arm was beginning to ache. I bet I don't get to the top of the list for a loan pump from the hospital before Andrew comes home (can't afford to rent hospital-grade).

I want to go to Wilkinsons to get some shed paint for the allotment and then stop off at Aldi and Lidl :) They're right across the road from eachother thankfully. Only annoying thing is that they have NO trolleys suitable for babies grrrr
I guess that's one of the reasons why they're cheap.
Oh, and I can go to the loo while holding Izzy. Maybe it is easier because she is bigger, so I just have to balance her on my knee, rather than having to support her head or anything. And I'm normally wearing a skirt too!
When Alice was little I sometimes went to the toilet while feeding her (she fed for so long) but I sit on my own toilet - I don't sit on public toilets, they're gross.

and OH has changed job roles which means he will be making more sales and earning very slightly more money, but that slightly more will be making a huge (bad) difference to our benefits. i think i'm going to call off the wedding. we cant afford to eat let alone pay for a wedding. and seth is going to end up being brought up by a ruddy childminder, taking his first ruddy steps there, first words, i'm going to end up missing it all :cry::cry:

The CTC/WTC thing is horrrrribly confusing. I have spent lengthy hours putting various scenarios into entitledto.co.uk and the various gov websites trying to understand what and why we get when etc etc.
I have still just been slightly ambushed this month by child benefit dropping (Elijah now over 1 year) and CTC dropping (to 2 pounds a month I think...) because of my income increasing last year etc. All very confusing.
Child benefit doesn't change with age. It's £20/week for the eldest qualifying child and then something less (somewhere around £16/week I think? for every subsequent child).

Do you get CTC per child? Or is it just 1 amount based on your income?

Child tax credit has a number of different elements:
    Family element: £545
    Baby under 1 element: £545
    Child element: £2235
(Plus additional elements for disabled children.)

They work out your maximum entitlement which with one new baby would be £3325 for a full year but they work it out pro-rata according to how much of the year is left (and for one new baby plus an older child would be £5560).

If you earn between £16040 and £50000 then they calculate 39% of your income over £16040 and knock that off what they give you (i.e. if you earn an extra £100 you gain £61 as you lose £39 of CTC).

This is why it can seem to increase a lot when you have an extra child: If your income means you are getting only a small amount of the maximum you could get and then you have another child, you get all of the entitlement from that child.

so im going to jump in the bath as i ended up making cakes for the open day this weekend and helping out with dishes so i feel dirty lol(dont tell my OH i said that he will be getting the wrong idea!)

Back from Tesco.. Bought Radox muscle therapy bubbles so I'm going for a soak in a while. Also bought my fav ready meal for lunch tomorrow (someone remind me to put it in the oven!) and some cute little soft shoes fell into the trolley for Rhys too :o Got an expanding box file thingy too so when I actually find all our paperwork I'll have somewhere to put it all.

Went to Argos too to get the bathroom units. Bumped into one of the girls from my dept at work there too - it was strange. I'm so used to having proper professional debates (as well as the usual lunchtime b1tchings about other colleagues! ;)) with her, it just felt really strained and an effort to string a sentence together. Definitely didn't feel like the old me at all
