  • Elle, you're a star expresser!!

Sami, I don't think the Drs ever care when it's a cough... And from what I recall, it was in the news recently that child cough medicines are pointless too... Stick bowls of water on the radiators and try and keep the air moist...

Mfd, I don't mind the colour fastness of GAP things... I find they wash terribly and go out of shape... Although my favourite outfit of Caitlyn's in 0-3 was a gap romper in pink and green stripes...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • Oh Jillie 1st of all congrats and 2ndly my thoughts are with you and DH at this sad time. Take care and no doubt someone will updated me on your baby.

Congratulations Jillie and welcome Kian! Also hugs for your sad news! As everyone has said - come here and rant/talk/laugh/cry whenever you want.....we're certainly not always happy! Its hard work this Mum stuff.
As well as being a support for your OH and your son, make sure you're also looking after yourself!
I lost my Grandad in the same week I had my first baby and I remember it being very difficult feeling guilty about being happy about my son!
A particularly helpful () health visitor told me to stop being upset and crying over my grandad, or i'd upset my baby! (Stupid old witch!)

    Welcome back Scruffy.
North West ladies have been meeting up and feeling each others muslins - and last night the start of arrangements for a big central meet were discussed. (Birmingham?)

I'm sure Elle will come along with a brilliant catch up soon!

One poor girl just said she'd heard having a baby felt like having a tummy bug, but a little bit worse!
She's going to be in for a shock!

  • Oh yeah... Hubby bought Willow home today for the Rocky Road... It's made with Cadburys dairymilk... I even found some cherries in the cupboard... But completely forgot to put cocoa powder in this time.. Durrrr!!

    Meh... I'll still eat it...

    Jillie welcome!
I can only echo what others have said. Don't think we are all happy, happy on here! We have more than our share of problems and I have found that airing my worries etc here makes it easier to cope IRL...I can say things on here that I wouldn't say IRL...or test an idea out before I take it 'public'.
    ((HUGS)) sweetie.
i second that jillie. in fact, i rekcon a good amount of what some of us talk about isnt happy happy.!! always have something to complain about or not happy with...

Anyone know how bad a Child's cough needs to be for a doctor to care IYSWIM? would it have to be constant? What do they do? give them an inhalor?
I don't think Chris needs to go I'm just interested

my nephew has had a severe nasty chesty but dry cough for a week or so, sis took him to docs n he prescribed paracetemol for him and said to come back n a week or so if it hadnt cleaered up. obv it hadnt, and he was given some other cough bottle.....i dont think they take coughs very serious at all imo.

I'm fuming with OH today.. Thought tonight would be better, but it's not been so far. From 4am, all he did was huff, tut and pull the duvet over his head whilst I was trying to feed/settle Rhys, then he refused to change him this morning claiming he was running late and yet sat on the sofa watching me while I did it so clearly did have the time after all. Then I've been at my parents' all afternoon, came home two hours after OH would have got home to find him asleep on the sofa. The whole house is a state and I'd have thought he'd at least tidied the kitchen, but no. So obviously I did it all very noisily ;):p Rhys is now grouchy after his jabs (stupid me for thinking it'd be a quiet night!) and OH has stuck him in his bouncer and gone to bed  *sigh*
i say you hand rhys over tonyt when he wakes!!!
    Carla-Farla!! :)

Apparently the government has scrapped plans to increase the paid part of maternity leave to twelve months in favour of making up to six months of the leave transferable to the dad.

Yeah especially when it's 5 and it's more of a headache than a belly ache :p

Scruffy, what was happening when you were last here? Do you know about caz's house? You've missed meet organising, meet happenings and lots of kisses and fondling ;)

Did you have a nice time away, btw?
