  • Bailey, there isn't anything specifically for PND here, but there is a depression support group. Have you asked your HV or GP? I wonder if the CMHT might be able to point you in the right direction? ((hugs)) to you.

    *hugs* for everyone.

Congratulations Jillie - it must be hard for you.

My internet is intermittent so I had to go join the real world today.

  • Jillie, welcome and congrats. Sorry about your SIL. Don't know if this helps, but please don't feel guilty for being happy. This is a special time for you ans I'm sure your SIL wouldn't want you to be sad. I've had a suicide attempt in the past, and wouldn't have wanted my illness to ruin a special time for someone. That said, I think it is normal for you to feel all sorts of emotions at the momemt. Whatever you are feeling, please talk to us. I hope what I've said is okay and not out of line or anything.

And if there is anything I can help with, with the breastfeeding/expressing especially, let me know. Krystal is our resident BF guru and Elle is out top expresser, and I expressed for 8.5 weeks before getting LO to latch on and breastfeed directly.

  • Jillie welcome!
I can only echo what others have said. Don't think we are all happy, happy on here! We have more than our share of problems and I have found that airing my worries etc here makes it easier to cope IRL...I can say things on here that I wouldn't say IRL...or test an idea out before I take it 'public'.
    ((HUGS)) sweetie.

I forgot the ((HUGS)) for MacSmiler the other day too.

Thought I was on top of all my 'jobs' for the day! (I do a list every morning so I do things rather than just sit on my a$$ all day gossiping) I kind of am but Argh I put Lexis light washing in the machine before and I bought her a new denim dress with nappy knickers last week from Baby Gap Im sure you have guessed what I did? Put the sodding Knickers in with all her pink and whites .... Its all come out of the washing machine blue and crappy looking! I could cry, there are about 4 brand new outfits in there. Help somebody please......

((HUGS)) Sparkle - I know that sick feeling when you open the washing machine well!! We all have our achilles heel and mine is that I can't wash clothes for toffee!!! I am always dyeing or shrinking things!
Dylon do a colour run remover which may be able to help.

My real advice is don't shop a baby gap - I have had at least 3 accidents with baby gap clothes since Benjamin was born  why can't they make their bl00dy clothes run-proof!!

    Jillie,

    Huge congratulations and welcome.

Also huge hugs about your sister in law :(. Please don't feel like you have to be happy on here. We would much rather hear from you about how things really are. Also if you vent to us, you'll be able to be stronger for DH and baby?

Anyway we're here and we care about you. :)

jillie - I completely agree with the eloquent words above.

I'm so sorry to hear about your SIL. You are allowed to be sad, but you are also allowed to be happy about your new arrival too. hugs x

  • Jillie i echo AGAIN, what's been said Feelie mentioned a prev suicide attempt and i'd like to reieterate from that side of things, i would never have wanted to spoil a one off special moment from doing something from my side of things. Does that make sense. Been there done that.

Enjoy the good and reflect the bad, support where you can, but also recogninse a newborn is one of the most hardest physically and mentally challenging things you can do.

    Hello! :D

Its DH's b'day but no steak dinners for him! He is still at my parents collecting his gifts (with Poppy as other visitors arrived too ) so we are ordering in when he eventually gets home. Jamie and I stayed here due to his cough and cold .

ETA: is everything good with you? Had to skip a few pages a while back to catch up! :o
