Still searching .....:)

It's probably been suggested before skinty, but is there a way you can encourage her to take more milk in the day so she's built up an energy store by night time? When Fergus was little we used to peel off layers and even a cold flannel on the forehead to get him to stay awake for a full feed
;). But that was cos the book we'd read said to really concentrate on getting him to have meals not snacks!
She is very fussy on the breast in teh day - looks around, pulls on and off every two seconds, loses her latch and chomps my nipple. It's all I can bear to let her have as much as she wants, let alone put her on again for more torture!
I may have to go to formula if this gets no better in a month cos it's unbbearable. I just don;t know what is wrong with her. I catch her tiredness early but she stillr efuses to go to sleep, I feed on demand but she bobs on a off like she isn;t sure.
OH just said she is asleep now at last so I'm going to cook and he will sit with her in case she does her usual trick of waking up after 30 mins and then yelling.
Oh and last night the sling worked for TEN minutes and then we had more yelling until she exhausted herself, and feel asleep, she slept around all the feeds OK except for one but the feeds were hourly at most and my nipples are now actually sore from allt eh feeds I'm doing.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Krystaltips wrote: »Skinty, have you mastered lying down feeding? Because (said in the nicest possible way) the best thing you can do is stop timing them... Lying down means you can sleep through the feeds, you're less likely to stress about it and she'll probably feed better because you're not stressing...
On a different note... I absolutely cannot stand Adrian Chiles!
i do feed lying down now but I still look at the clock cos otherwise I feel worse somehow. I don;t stress in the night, it's when she is screaming that I do, I just am so tired from all teh feeding.
Anyway, off to cook now. Bye. x:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

skintchick wrote: »OH made me one. Better drink ti while it's hot! And then go cook dinner. Honestly this is so hard and no-one else seems to have it this bad - everyone I talk to has babies sleeping at night with just maybe 2 feeds, and no meltdowns, and regular naps, and I have this monster who I do love but bl00dy hell I cannot go through this again - one is going to have to be enough cos I am on the verge of a breakdown with Lilia.
Maddy doesn't have regular naps and rarely sleeps for longer than 20mins without a cuddle. I'm not bothered though as I know it doesn't last. The only way she sleeps at night is with me. I'm typing one handed now so guess where she is.I did use the odd FF to force her into a feeding routine though as she fed constantly.

I did say I would try and pop in now and again..... I have had a little flick back, so will just say;
Elle - I will keep everything crossed for the next scan.
3 - Congrats to your OH.
Caz - Congrats on the new house.
My lectures actually start on the 28th, which is fortunate as my car hasn't yet got a working engine in it!!! Hopefully it should be all finished off by Tuesday as I am meant to be going up for a welcome meeting thing.
Kai is doing great, he is now sitting fully unaided and eating toast/rusks etc without gagging at all, and he has mastered sliding around the floor....he tried to get his knees under him but quite get it yet.....Jaden is doing fantastically in school and is fast catching up with the rest of his year, so all he extra dyslexia specific work seem to be paying off (although his writing skills are still far behind his age) Luca is as bright as always, although I am a bit gutted as he is due to go away with the school in November and it just happens to fall on his birthday, so torn with what to do for that....
I hope everyone is well
Mel x
