Hey girlies (and guys
)
Just spending a few days at my Mum's caravan as OH has this week off :T It's been really nice just spending some time together. Today we are just pottering waiting for my lil sis to arrive with her BF.
Liam slept through on sunday eve 10pm-6am, but hasn't manage to do it againHe spent all day yesterday eating and sleeping. He had a whopping 9oz at 5ish and still woke up for his usual 4hrly feeds - guts!
I haven't really been keeping up cos the internet connection here is pant! Hugs to all thos that need them
Elle - hope the new meds work for Rhys.
MM - painless jab vibes for you and Dylan
Oh actually, a quick question about jabs? Liam will be 8 weeks next week, should I be contacting the GP to arrange his jabs or will they contact me?0 -

I had Keira when I was 18, I'm almost 22 - BAD KAREN. Doesn't help that my mum had pre cancerous cells in her womb after she had me (Also at 18)
I'm an idiot.
BM - do they still test younger ladies in Scotland? Isn't it over 25s only in England.0 -
morning
not had chance to catch up properly
MM - hope injections go ok (I'm dreading jack having his)
there is another Dylan on preg thread :j
BM - am sure a very light bleed would be ok as some women bleed when they have a smear.
didn't get up til 9.30am  Jack had bottle at 12.30am & 4.30am and then stayed down til 9.30am. :j have been cosleeping in the spare room as he settles better and oh is sick & think jack may have caught itA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

as soon as you have had a child or are sexually active you can have a smear no matter what your age !! and dont let the GP tell you different !!The two best things I have done with my life

it is in England but with BM's family history they should do one - in Wales it's over 18 so I've had them routinely every 3 years since I moved to England.
did u get my PM the other day?A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

it's not the GP - after jade goody died we had a memo from the local lab that said they wouldn't process any smears for women under 25 unless they were bleeding or had family history.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

nms - just hijacking to say that you can get a test under-25 in England if you ask for it (esp. if you have family history). Some PCTs might be more reluctant than others, but I had no problems getting 1 at 23 since I have a family history of various womanly cancers.
And I know it's not the same disease, but everyone should get smears as often as possible. My mother recently died of ovarian cancer after a 3+yr battle and if only there was some sort of easy system system of detection like cervical cancer she might've been able to catch it far earlier and had a better chance of survival. Sorry, small soapbox

MM if you're under the age of 25 here they dont bother looking at it even if you do have a smear unless you are showing problems x
Still searching .....:)

we can have one as soon as we have a child. I had my 1st one at 21 and then at 24 which is when they found my pre-cancerous cells, but they wernt that bad, then again last year just before I got pregnant and the pre-cancerous cells were as advanced as they can get before being cancer, so I was incredibly lucky, as my consultant said that another 3 - 4 months and it would have been cancer.
I am so sorry that you lot all have to wait. You would think that esp. mothers would be allowed a smear even if no one else could`
