Car drivers = grrr!
Some car drivers are absolute and utter idiots who should be banned from driving!
One of the main things they get taught during their driving lessons is to watch out for motorcyclists and push bikes.
I ride a motorcycle and twice this week I've had an almost near-fatal collision purely because of drivers not looking and only caring about themselves on the road.
People blame motorcyclists when crashes happen when infact it is incompetent and idiotic drivers.
I never exceed the speed limit, always ride with care and give other drivers plenty of room, why the hell is that so difficult for others to do?
Sorry, vent over.

That's exactly what happened to me today. It is so frustrating. Someone is going to end up killing me, simply because they are too lazy to glance to the left and right. We’ve had to remove your signature. sadly not all bike users are like you. only yesterday i was cut up by a motorcyclist in a queue of traffic to pass a bendy bus that had broken down right on top of a horrible set of traffic lights (the kind where you can get three vehicles through per light sequence if you're lucky). the bike made no effort to look to see what was going on around him, never mind indicate. the same motorcyclist then swerved across 2 lanes of dense fast moving traffic just moments later. did he signal? did he heck. again, luckily for him the people behind had their wits about them and were able to brake in time.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Tell me the last time you saw a biker in traffic NOT overtaking cars? So many incidents of bikers nearly being killed all have one thing in common, bikers.Pants0

I don't overtake, simply because of those reasons. I think it's dangerous and I certainly wont risk my life just so I can get to my destination quicker.
Car drivers need to remember though that bikers don't have the same protection as car drivers. One small crash could kill a biker and leave the car driver unharmed. That's why I think car drivers should exercise more caution when theres a biker nearby, just as they would when children are playing near the road (or even crossing the road).
LOL I've had car drivers overtake me, because I stick to the speed limit and they'd prefer to go 40/50mph.We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Just shows that bikers are just as bad as car drivers. Those kind of ruthless bikers obviously don't value their life enough to ride with care.
I've not been on the road for long.. maybe 2 months or so but I've experienced enough to make me want to go back to public transport. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Pedal bikers, motorbikers, lorry drivers, taxi drivers, bus drivers, car drivers and van drivers. Every group using the road have a minority that shouldnt be allowed on the road. Unfortunately we all experience this minority then tar them all with the same brush.0

Fete in the village yesterday, traffic parked on one side on the road, and two policemen controling traffic down the otherside, with pedestrians everywhere, and a procession in the road as well. They had to tell the only motorcyclist twice to stop, in the end they pulled him in. He couldn't understand why he wasn't allowed to pass the parked cars, as he fitted through even with the traffic coming the other way allegedly!0

I'm just back from a run and I saw a biker nearly pushed over on to the pavement by a car driver who couldn't decide what lane they wanted to be in.
The biker was in front of them in one lane, a bus was in front of them in the other lane, and they were in the middle behind both but more over onto the bus's side. When the car driver did decide what lane they wanted to be in they didn't bother to look into the lane the bike was in.
I've seen many near misses involving cars and motorbikes. And generally is the car driver not looking out for the bike. The thing that shocks me in my area is that there are bikes - both push and motorised - around all the time at all hours of the day and night. So you must be an idiot not to look out for them.
Edited to say: Then there are idiot bikers who decide to drive on the opposite side of the road when they can clearly see you coming. Last week one biker nearly didn't have enough room to pull back on to the right side of the road. Luckily I slowed down.
And then there are the cyclists who don't understand that they need to signal before pulling out in front of a car that has room to accelerate. I'm still having nightmares about that one.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
