    I've been Money Tipped!
I am trying to build up the courage to try out this Days Inn thingy. Does anyone have any comparison sites to beat the prices for their hotels in Dublin ????
There are some cheap flight out there, maybe worth a punt.

I am trying to contact Days Inn in the UK but the number I have doesn't work: 0800 0280 400.

Does anyone know another number I can try? (I don't want to call the US again)

    Kyles...
Try 0800 0280 600 but only after 2pm. Unfortunatley, it still takes you to an American operator. I don't think that there is a UK office for this 'offer'. The only UK numbers are the hotels themselves n they'll probaby refer you to the 0800 number.

p.s. is it "a UK.." or "an UK.."......? lol

Cheers for that Madjohn. It's definately "a UK"

I can't believe they are trying to dodge this by carrying on about the breakfast. Does anyone else think they are being unreasonable?

I mean their T&Cs are such that: The Guarantee applies only to published rates available to the general public. Group rates, corporate rates, wholesale rates, affinity/association rates or rates which are part of a travel package which includes more than hotel accommodations do not qualify.

Now they clearly argue that breakfast & accomodation consistutes a "package" because they write: I'm sorry but as there is more than the hotel accommodations included in the lower rate found, we would not be able to process the free night.

Now I do not agree that accomodation & breakfast consitutes a "travel package". I have contacted the Association of British Travel Agents Ltd. and they agree with me. I also referred them to the Department of Trade and Industry Package Travel Regulations 1992.

The Regulations define a package as something which: is a pre-arranged combination sold or offered for sale at an inclusive price covering a period of more than twenty-four hours and which includes at least two of the following components: transport, accommodation or other significant tourist services (not ancillary to transport or accommodation).

But I got the same response: I got more than accomodation with the other site (breakfast) and now they won't hold up their end of the bargain. I am very frustrated.

    Any suggestions?

Has anyone had any luck booking the ramada hotels??

I was advised that it was only for USA and Canada, I have argued that the wording is just the same (it was at the time don't know if they have changed it, following my complaint though) both companies are part of Cendant (as is French Life etc!!)

I feel that they are misleading us and I have threatened to take the matter further. I am not bothered about the free hotel room, you can get some great bargains thru various sites at far better hotels, but free is FREE!!!! and it is the principle of the matter!!!

If you have had any experience regarding the Ramada guarantee can you let me know.

    Thanking you!!!!!!!!

Woohoo - it worked! I made a mess of the booking - it was only me staying there but could only find 4-person rooms for cheaper. I specified 4 people in my party to ensure they compared like with like. It almost caught me out as the cheaper place (https://www.laterooms.com) would only allow 2 adults and 2 children to be booked in. Claim was initially rejected but I replied immediately to say I had confused my booking. They asked me to clarify number of people in party. I said 2 (didn't want them to question the double room!) and got a reply within the hour comfirming free stay. Hotel wasn't up to much - I'd be narked if I'd paid £95 for it, but it was free and I loved it nonetheless.

    thanks again!!

If this works I'm gonna be a VERY happy bunny. If not I think i might be a bit cross for doing it last minute...!!

Need to go down to Hertfordshire for early Tuesday so thought I'd get a hotel. Found one nearby but they only had executive rooms at £95. Quick search and the 4-person exec rooms were on offer elsewhere for £79! woohoo!! (hopefully)

Booked, claim submitted and fingers crossed. Leaving on Monday eve but won't find out til the Americans get in to work - which is about the same time I'm leaving... Hmm... Cutting this a bit fine I think!

If anyone would care to check my booking just for my reassurance I'd be most grateful!

Search for STANSTEAD. One hotel found - check rates. Current only shows two rooms:

    AIRCON/DBLBD/MINIFRIG
    CANCEL BEFORE 4PM 95.00 1 4 1 95.00

    AIR CON/DBLE BED/MINI FRIG
    CANCEL BEFORE 4PM 95.00 1 4 1 95.00

If anyone can check then thanks for the reassurance :)
