Free hotel rooms!

This is my first post, so hope it's in the right place, apologies if it's been done before etc. Also thanks to everyone on the site - I'm a long-time lurker and have taken advantage of many great deals.

So, free rooms. Days Inn http://www.daysinn.com/DaysInn/control/home are curently running a guarantee that says:
"You can get the Guaranteed Best Available Rate or It's Free when you book your reservation at DaysInn.com or call 800-DAYS-INN®.
If you find a lower publicly available rate for the same hotel accommodation and date on another web site, we’ll give you your first night free!"

I have recently done this and it worked! :j Here is an example:

I want to stay at the Days Inn, Nuneaton on Sat 27th May. The price quoted on the Days Inn website is £47.50

However, the same room is available on Laterooms.com for £38

and on Activehotels.com for the same price, £38:

So, I book on the Days Inn site, and immediately fill in the claim form with the details (you MUST do this within 24 hours of finding the cheaper rate):

Within 4 days I had the following response:

Thank you for contacting the Days Inn Customer Service Department regarding the Days Inn Guaranteed Best Available Rate. We appreciate your choice of Days Inn for your lodging needs.

After reviewing your claim, you will be receiving a free night stay at this Days Inn property. Your confirmation number is XXXXXXXX.

Book with confidence at Days Inn.com with the Guaranteed Best Available Rate. Enjoy your stay at Days Inn.

NOTE: You must book the EXACT SAME room as the offer you have found. I had to book a twin as the other descriptions did not seem to be exactly the same. However, the worst case scenario is that they refuse your claim, you then cancel (which you can do up to 24 hours before with no charge), and either don't go or book through the cheaper website!

I need to stay for one night only. Will this offer for a free room cover that same night I have booked, or will it be for a night's stay at Holdiay Inn the next time I book?

I have just found out that it's the same night that you initially requested that will be free. Which is nice!

Yes, even if you stay one night only it's that night that you get free, that's what they have offered me. So no cost at all! :j
Please check - it is Days Inn, not Holiday Inn.

This would of been great for myswelf and my daughter to have a break for 1 night could do with it,But trouble with credit card,So very dissapointed as a free night away is a great freebie.

Just checked the terms and conditions and it states that this is only available if you book a room in United States or Canada

Guarantee applies only to reservations made at the Daysinn.com web site or the Days Inn toll-free number for Days Inn hotels in the United States and Canada. Guest must have a Days Inn reservation confirmation number.

It applies to uk too. I did it last year on a night in London with my Kids. It was a tip I got of moneysaving. Just have to make sure the room is exac the same and try and keep proof of a cheaper room. They did try and get out of it saying the cheaper price I was quoted was not available but I had kept the comfirmation price and sent it as proof. Its really good as you don't have to pay anything up front but give your card details and as long as you cancel within a specifield time you will not be charged.
