Despite all the advice you have received on this thread you are still worrying about this so called "debt". You sound like a nice person e.g. you took your elderly mother shopping, parked in a bay wide enough to open the car door for her to get out of the car without difficulty. If this is causing you more hassle than you feel able to cope with then for peace of mind you could just pay up.
I've lived in my house for 3 years and I keep getting threatening letters from debt collection agencies for a previous occupant. When the letters first arrived I took the trouble to ring the agency to explain that that person no longer lived here but after a while I gave up and now I just bin the letters without opening. The "debt" was obviously sold on to other agencies (that's a lucrative business!) over the years because the name of the agency changed every now and again. If you can't cope with this kind of hassle then perhaps paying up may work for you?fitzroy0 -

Suggesting the OP pay up is like telling her to send some money to a Nigerian email scammer!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes and the OP resurrected it today when he got another threatening letter.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I would not pay this fine but would still urge people to respect the facility and not use Parent & Child Bay if you don't have children. In a normal bay, it IS difficult to open the door wide enough to unclasp and then move out a 2-year old. You struggle with lack of space feeling literally squashed and at the same time worry about accidentally scratching the car parked next to you if you open that door a bit wider. And it does help to have wide side areas to leave your child while you are taking out your handbag etc.
The facility is there for a good reason - please be considerate.0 -
