Grr, how annoying - me and two friends tried to get in to the 'Up in the Air' screening at Odeon Norwich tonight and were turned away because it was too full.

There were at least ten others who also didn't get in. I was under the impression that SeeFilmFirst screenings were allocated to capacity and it says so in their terms and conditions. (Although admittedly it does say 'first come, first served' too .)

I was already having a bad day - my roof is leaking and my letting agents can't come and look at it till the weather improves and my football match was cancelled, and now this!! :(

SFF do have a tendency to over allocate tickets to make up for no shows, which is why they tell you to get there for 6pm for a 6.30pm screening. It doesn't happen often that people are turned away but it does from time to time. At the Liverpool screening, we had several people who were latecomers and who were allowed in.

As there were so many of you, did anyone speak to the manager?

Just back from Up In The Air. I felt totally let down, maybe were my expectations or maybe as we were saying the whole thing is based on someone who has no apprehentions in life and then..."falls" in love. I just didn't buy it. The acting was fairly mediocre with no risks whatsoever from any of the actors and the direction made obviously no effort 4/10

I quite enjoyed it. It didn't tax my brain cells but I found it quite amusing but it won't win any awards.

I really enjoyed Up In The Air, although if I was being 'Let Go' by George I'd probably punch his smug wobbly face (in the context of the film of course as he was very good in it).

Yet another dulicated code posted, this time for 44 Inch Chest. The original post is only 6 posts before. Why don't people check before they post??

However, I must say that I'm happy he posted it again! When I tried the code when it first came up, I couldn't get tickets. But I just got 2 from trying it again!! (I didn't realise it was duplicated!)

Thanks for the no chat comment on the board!

  • Saw up in the air last night in Leeds - relatively full cinema but I too was a bit disappointed - story didn't really go anywhere and although I was trying to find the deeper plotline and meaning I was paddling in the shallow end with this film - had I not seen it last night gut instinct would have proved true that this would have been hired as a weekend DVD movie rather than cinema visit for me.

i always wonder why people don't check.

funny thing is i didn't notice it was a duplicate so tried the code anyway and got tix! previously they said it was full. something good did come out of it [shrugs].

i have tix for today, tomorrow and sunday. this is my luckiest week ever!
  • I thought that Up in the Air was fantastic! It made me laugh out loud, but was also depressing in places. Perhaps a bit predictable, but I'm not the type to think ahead when watching a film, I just sit back and enjoy it - so predictability is rarely an issue. I also love a rom-com (although this deserves more credit than that title would give it) - so it was bound to be a winner with me!

I thought that George was great - in fact all of the actors were. They had a great script to work with too!

I always think it's funny how everyone has such different opinions about these things!

Well I'm glad that people managed to get tickets for a film that was originally showing as full but if you ever miss out in the future, it is always good to keep checking right up until day of screening. People have managed to get tickets shortly before the screening. I keep a list of the codes in a Word document so that I don't have to re-check the codes posted.

I havent seen the film admittedly but as apprehension means fear, then I think it is pretty logical that someone who is fearless can fall in love. It takes guts and a fearless person would have the nerve and daring to allow themselves to be open to love etc when fears can stop people from being open to new experiences or love.
