As I'm unable to make it, DD will be going with her friends - none of us are Times+ Members. Can anyone confirm whether they have ever been asked for proof of membership or not?
TIA.
Can anyone help with this query please?

No, never heard of that. GL:beer:Thanks to those who help us to win !0 -
I went to see The Last Song last week but have only just been able to get online to talk about it. I thought it was really enjoyable! A bit boring in a few places, but it was nowhere near as bad as some of the reviews it has received online, especially not it's IMDB rating.
I noticed I missed out on the SKY Prince of Persia screening tickets, so I decided to splash out and get some for the advanced screening at westfields, the same night and place that the premier is going to be!:D

I have no printer access at the moment. Is a hard copy of the ticket necessary? Does anyone know if cineworld will let me into a film preview if I show them my ticket confirmation on my iTouch?
Cheers!0 -

I wemt to see The last song last week with it wasn't too bad thought that it nicked a few bits from the film beaches but the scenes at the funeral in the church where the light came through the window were really naff the cinema burst into hyterics when that bit came up and wenever stopped laughing till it got to the end.0 -
Mmmmmm
2 of us went, ds loved this - said it was excellent.
Me on the other hand..... thought it very boring and predictable.
All the 'coming soons' had trumpeted about this being by the same team that brought up the Pirates of the Caribbean films..... but considering the 3rd of them, that is not necessarily anything to brag about.
In my personal opinion this is not in the same league as the first Pirates film, but not as schizophrenic as the third..... and it does actually have a plot/storyline.
Clearly Disney and the rest of those responsible for this have sat down to plan a "successful" film, sandwiching a popular console game between a list of must-include characterisations, and thrilling adventure/cgi.
For me, it doesn't work.... because Pirates I and The Mummy have already been there and done that, and this doesn't bring anything new to the table.
Hero - Brendon Fraser and Orlando bloom, now Jake Gyllenhaal ( who looks GOOD:o)
Feisty Heroine - Rachel Weiss and Keira Knightly, now Gemma Arterton
Story = need to conquer some 'nether' world demons AND fall in love and have a happy ending.
Interestingly all 3 heroes and all 3 heroines are dark haired, and all 3 leading ladies British.... several times tonight I closed my eyes and could visualise Rachel or Keira delivering the dialogue.
It didn't help that part of the Red Carpet event before hand had the main actors doing a question and answer session which talked about the storyline, and made what little in the way of 'suprises' no surprise at all.
I was concerned as this Red Carpet transmission had the sound and vision out of sync.... but thankfully the film had no such problems.
CGI - there was clearly a need because of the storyline, the period it was supposedly set it, and the stunts/special effects...... but again I have seen better and more realistic CGI. Some scenes were well done, others looked very amateurish.
I did spend periods shaking with suppressed laughter......and occasionally cracking out into muffled guffaws...... and not at the bits which were supposed to be funny!
Prince of Persia the Game.
Neither ds nor I have played the game, but I understand the film does not stick strictly to the storyline of the game.
The first half of the film I could visualise how it would work in a game format.... but by the second half the "game" aspect had been forgotten.
From DS an 8.5 out of 10, from TOB, 7.... and 2 of them was down to Jakes rugged good looks and physique;)
Gemma was good, although she seems to suffer from Keiras problem of only having one facial expression..... although thankfully in her case it wasn't just a wistful pout.
I would think this would be suitable for the 7 to 13 age group..... and maybe those who are fans of the game.0 -
I thought the Prince of Persia was excellent! Of course not as good as the Pirates films, but still a great watch.
There wasn't a dull moment, and I thought even from the beginning it was exciting to watch, and some of the stunts were really cool.
The ending was a little bit unfulfilling, but I suppose disney want to leave it open in case of a PoP 2? :P0
