Normally have no problems with Cineworld or Total Film screenings, so I'm now going to err on the side of caution, and call the cinema on the day of the screening just to make sure that it will go ahead.

Okay I was a bit pee'd off tonight, and still am, but I've seen so many screenings that I'm so grateful to be allowed to see. That balances the equation.

    Thanks for your support, Pooch.

That's okay Tibbs. I can well understand you being teed off, I would be too. It would cause me a lot of problems if a preview was cancelled and I didn't find out until I got to the cinema.

I've always found the Liverpool Cineworld staff and management to be very helpful along with those at the Odeon and Picturehouse @ FACT. We do have a great hobby and I appreciate all the codes and info posted that allow me to participate and being a regular has meant that I've got to know quite a few staff at the Liverpool cinemas which all adds to the fun.

I think I would still contact Total Film though, if not to complain then to enquire. They do ask for feedback after all.

The manager at Cineworld Aberdeen was lovely and said I could see another film instead :)

I was going to ask to speak to the manager, but decided not to. I obviously should've.

One of the staff explained what happened and I pointed out that I've paid for parking....and the manager was just there. Ended up see The Jones instead as have seen alot of stuff already. But it's being shown tomorrow they said....so you should be able to return. They said it was confusion between the various companies who had it planned for next week despite we being told it was tonight.

Just come back from the showing at Crawley. What a waste of 2 hours - we were really disappointed in this film. In magazine said it had been made in 35 days - showed it as well. Much of the film was taken up with Nicholas Cage snorting. No real plot.

I've heard from friends who saw it in Edinburgh and Birmingham tonight although both screenings were beset by problems.

Wandsworth screening went ahead as planned. I thought Bad Lieutenant was a really good movie, Nicolas Cage giving an excellent performance as a man falling apart and still trying to do the right thing (sort of). Setting the film in New Orleans was very symbolic too, the city itself in pieces post Katrina. The thing to remember is that this isn't a re-make or a sequel to the Harvey Keitel film of the same name! Well recommended.

Ultimately, I don't think Bad Lieutenant is the type of film to see in the cinema. It is however a very good movie, in my opinion. Cage absolutely encapsulates the character of somebody on the edge - something he's always been good at doing, but sadly he's constantly miscast in poor action movies.
I think you need to be accustomed to Herzog's style of film-making to truly appreciate this one, in my opinion.
