    Law Abiding Citizen,

Violent, thrilling, clever, exciting, dramatic, tense, vengeful, moralistic....ending a bit of an anti-climax ?!!
I thought the last 15 minutes was a bit of a let down.
Up to then the plot had been so good, that there was at least a dozen different ways it could have ended. As things started to wind down I expected this was s deliberate ploy to lull the audience into a false sense of security, and then it would have an ending so dramatic that my socks would be blown off.....but they weren't !!

Screening packed, had one coming soon and an Orange advert.
We were so engrosed that the time flew by, couldn't believe it was nearly 9pm when it finished.
Lots of surprises, gasps from the audience, and even a few applauds at the end by some.
GB looked as though he enjoyed himself in this film.....and for the ladies, he takes his kit off and displays his manly form.....though what it had to do with the story line I don't know.....but I'm not complaining :D

Yes I suppose the end did lack the killer punch after what most of the quite energetic film had provided to that point.

    On another note...

We were all sent to the WRONG CINEMA ! :rotfl:

Turned up at the normal Showcase (as I had booked and as per the tickets) only to find out that they knew nothing about the LAC screening.
They then found out that it was at the Showcase Cinema de Lux in the town centre.
Given it was gone 18:50 I did well to get to the right cinema by 19:03.
Fortunately they delayed the start until 19:15 or so ( first showing a trailer for The Crazies - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0455407/ ) and the last few people were still turning up as the LAC opening titles were being shown.

  • I signed up to receive VIP text message alerts a couple of months ago to make sure I got hold of all the free tickets on offer, however now I can no longer make the free screenings I have tried to stop receving these messages which cost £1.50 per message. I have replied STOP, which the message states will remove my number, to around 7 VIP alerts now and I still receive them. I have emailed seefilm several times over the past few weeks and they have not replied. I have even logged into seefilm and changed the mobile number they have for me but continue to receive the messages. I am slowly paying for all the free tickets I have previously enjoyed. Has anybody had a simlilar problem? I would advise anybody considering it to avoid singing up for these alerts.

I got 2 tickets in the post for the 3rd Nov in Preston, for the Polo Film Festival... however I have no idea what the film is going to be...? Does anyone know what the winning film is?
  • Law Abiding Citizen was very good, a real intelligent thriller IMHO. First scenes were great as you really wondered what the heck it was turning into - it could have gone all Hostel-ly on us. And at last Jamie Foxxuxx does a proper decent thriller (Collateral? Give me a break). The people going to freviews in November have a good night out on their hands.

Perhaps too they won't have to stand and wait like lemons in the foyer over 30 minutes for the delayed start, like we were in Leicester last night.
  • I just contacted Odeon to ask what the Polo Film Festival screening would be at Cardiff Odeon tomorrow night and they told me it's 'Love Actually'. Gutted, as I really wanted to see Grease on the big screen... Hope this helps someone though....
  • where did you get a contact number for the odeon? I can only find an automated one and its totally no help! Trying to find out what's showing at glasgow tomorrow
