£21 an hour? Yeesh, I have my degree and a qualification to teach but that's just taking the biscuit! I was thinking charging about £6 an hour-ish so more people could afford it, tuition isn't cheap but is sometimes necessary.

Yep :D About 15 mins ago, she rushed over to me to announce that she'd laid another egg :rotfl:

My mum is my best customer at the moment. She's just left with a jar of blackberry jam, a cucumber, 4 eggs and a birthday card - all homegrown/handmade/home-laid :D

My SIL had a tutor for her son when he was 8 and they were trying to get him into one of the local fee paying schools. There's a lot of competition here in Edinburgh for places. I can't recall what they paid (was a few years ago anyway) but the tutor was making about three times as much per week as she would have done as a part time teacher, apparently. They found out about her from one of the schools they were applying for...they kept a tutor bank, for all sorts of specialist subjects, not just general.

  • I'm still getting into the swing of this whole Old Style thing but I'm getting there. I made bread at the weekend (slightly flat. Need to find somewhere warmer to let it rise next time), as well as a sponge and some dog biscuits, which were more like cakes but he seems to like them! Yesterday I nearly managed all of my Flylady tasks, but finally caved to my OH's whinging and sat down with him having NOT cleaned the hob. Hmm. Must be stronger in future! Planning to start my very first "Rubber Chicken" adventure tonight, and whatever I cook better be good as I had awful trouble convincing my OH not eat the rest of last night's Roast Chicken when he wasn't actually hungry. Have managed to get him on supermarket own squash now. Not that he knows as it's distilled into a branded bottle, but never mind!
My main concern today is trying to figure out the logistics of handling 4 rabbits and 1 labrador at the vet's tonight!

    Celyn - amazing cake!

sistercas - How old is your DD if you don't mind me asking? My DD is becoming very spotty, and is only 10. My main concern is that the spots are really itchy, and she therefore keeps scratching them and scratching the tops off, so her forehead is a mass of scabs. I'm worried she'll end up with a very scarred face, so was thinking about taking her to the doctors to see if there is anything they can give her?

Had my haircut, and very pleased. Needs colouring again (always do it myself), but will have to wait til the weekend after next when I am off.

Had letter through for schools appeal date for DD. Had to phone and change it, as in court that day (for work, not because I'm naughty!!). So, will have to start prepping what I'm going to say.

Gemma - if he really wants you to sit down with him, the solution is that he helps so you get finishes quicker;):rotfl:

Afternoon everyone, load of washing out dried, and in, it has brightened up here after a dismal start, but rather breezy.

Just going to have a look at my new freezer inventory list to decide what is for tea:rotfl::rotfl:.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • Well - bit late in the pm for chatting but was a busy day today as DD's first morning in Reception/Yr1. They have a mixed class at this age so although she should be in Reception, she's actually with loads of Yr1age children - oh well, aparently it works.

So had a ncie quiet morning - did 30mins on EA Sports exercising and made sure kitchen was still clean and tidy. Had some randomer knocking on the door and didn't really understand me when I told him that he had to arrange appointments to view with the estate agents - he even got quite shirty with me!
Been to Wilkinsons and got some bits and bobs including some cheaper toothpaste etc etc. Didn't have time to get to go food shopping so will be cheese/beans on toast or something similar.
Just provisionally booked DS 6th b'day party at Wacky Warehouse - he'll love that. Need to find out who he wants to go.

Oh and my assignment I was stressing over last week - got it marked - 97% Really happy with that!!!

Anyway - off to work, only 2weeks left of evenings!!

    Gert x
Made it - 15 years married!! Finally!! xx:beer:
