    Morning all
welcome2.gifValk_scot, good to have you with us! Hope your son had a great birthday.
Redruby - I watched that too and was crying within about 5 mins.
Nic1 - Hope you enjoy your jury service, I remember it as being a LOT of hanging around.
stefejb - Thank you honey, it all makes sense now!
Ladyshopper - good news for your daughter then!
Tru - Penny looks lovely and congrats on her first egg.
Grandmasam - hope you find it without the sniffing... lol
Mioliere - no Tris so went back to bed without posting.. Thanks for noticing!
Marie - that is fantastic news! So happy he has been found
Patent - how exciting, we will be thinking of you,
I know we have a lot of Yankee Candle fans on the board and HERE they have the tarts for just 75p each. I have used this website before and they are reliable.
We had friends down for dinner last night and had a huge chinese meal but there is enough left for my OH and I to have it for dinner tonight, so I don't feel too bad about spending the money. My friend wants to organise a trip to London in October so I said I would do some research on hotels and a show they want to see and see if I could find lots of MS things for them to do that won't cost too much. Be fun to have a project.
Tris didn't log on last night so I went back to bed around 0430, couldn't stay awake any longer. Am up early today (for me!) as DHL tried to deliver my approved food parcel yesterday at 0830 and I slept through it so decided to make sure I was up today in case they are early again!
Well, the BM and washing machine are on and like yesterday it is dull and grey here but the sun came out mid morning and we had a great day so have my fingers crossed it will be the same today.
Have a great day. Warm gentle grouphug.gif for anyone who wants one!

    Morning all.

I'm having my usual cups of tea and internet surf before waking DDs up. Work was planned last night, which has given me more time to get the things I wanted doing sorted.

I've a load in the washing machine ready to come out, but that will have to wait for DDs this morning.

I saw my mum and dad yesterday, and they had a gift of apples, pears, plums, tomatoes and a cucumber from their garden. I want to have a go at making some plum jam with the girls, but we've not done it before so I'm hoping it wont be too difficult.

We've got an easy evening meal later - gammon, which everyone likes, so no having to sort out different menus. It can be really difficult having a fussy eater in the ranks

    Enjoy your day all.

    morning all

at work all day today so will miss the sunshine if there is any , very cloudy here at the mo

it makes me really cross about bus fares to and from school. it costs me £8 a week for the teens to get to school and yet 50 yrds further up the road its free  we are just out of the catchment . still its a good school and i would rather pay that than them go to the catchment school for free

going to make a macaroni cheese for tea when I get in as its quick and we all love it , I shall add tomatoes and bacon - yummy

DD1 has an appointment with the doctor later as her skin is really spotty , she has tried long term antibiotics and topical creams and her gp put her on a skin friendly contraceptive pill about 3 months ago but still no improvement , so we will see what she says

better go and do some work :o

have a good day everyone ((hugs)) to all that need

    Thanks for that Diva.

I love Yankee Candles. So do DDs, which means I have to avoid walking past the store as it costs me a fortune when we go in lol!

I know how that feels - which is why I now only shop online and only when the offers are very very good!! :rotfl::rotfl: I count that as money-saving..:rotfl:

    morning all!

    2 days off now:j

So far today I have done 2 loads of washing, cleaned through the house and cleaned up the fireplace after a dead wood pigeon dropped down the chimney over the weekend! need to get it swept now ready for winter.

We are having TV problems now, everyone in the top half of the screen looks like the Incredible Hulk:D a lovely green tinge so it looks like we need to get a new one - could do without the expense but doubt if it worth repairing as it only cost £100 when we bought it.

    Other plans for today

    check on Mums friend(she's 90+)

    more laundry

    take hedge cuttings to skip

catch up on lots of other little jobs

Happy Birthday for yesterday Mioliere x

Penpen - thats a lot of money for getting to school/college. My DS has a bus pass from the local authority for £84 every half term. It is cheaper if you do it yearly but we can never affore the fee of over £400 in one go.

thats about it for now, have a great day all

    Take care x

    Morning all :)

I sneaked off home early yesterday to finish my bosses birthday cake :D I never want to see hydroscopic melting marzipan chickens ever again...

it's a lot of in-jokes, which is why it's a bit random! I only had a day really to work on it, so it's not as finely finished as it would normally be, but it's okay. I'm getting quite a reputation for this at work now (the path is made from shreddies :rotfl: noone has noticed that yet!) My office smells of chocolate :)

I made some damson and apple jam last night and some more mini-food picture frames too.

    tru - great picture :)
bitsy - My sambuca days are well and truly over too :)
ladyshopper - glad the first days at new schools went well

I went out to get some cream for the cake and found a wispa gold bar in sainsbury's :) Today is going to be a good day, I can feel it :)

Right - back to work, was slightly later in this morning as I had to be collected due to the weight of that cake (it's 12 inch square and very very heavy), so I have some catching up to do today :) have a good day all, cel x

    Ooooh, nice cake!

Today Hubby was away early to work so I had to drag myself out early and give DS and the dreaded TUBA a lift to school (too heavy to carry it) and then drop DD off too....I do hate taking the car out at this time of day. It's so much easier to just turf them out the front door so they can walk to school! Still, it means that I can do the shopping on the way home (Lidl today) and have even got a load of washing in. Weather is foul though, miserable and grey and windy.

I keep a cheap notebook on my desk and jot down the jobs I need to do each day of the week, plus menu, shopping and other reminders. Today I have:

Someone from Freecycle coming to pick up old breadmaker.
Undercoat front door. (I did the prep work and filler yesterday.)
Find pot of varnish. (I'm sure I had varnish in the utility room but where?)
Iron shirts (rare event this), get overnight bag from attic, find sponge bag and towels. (This is for Hubby who is going to a conference tomorrow.)
    Make soup.
    Laundry.
DD's first night at Cubs tonight. (She got fed up being a Brownie.)

Shopping: B&Q: Caulk, caulk gun, new bolt for door.

Menu: Lentil soup, HM bread. HM pizza, salad.

Zzzzzz...I'd rather just go back to bed on a day like this! Not allowed though, hrumph.
    Val.
