DVD decoder for windows media player

    you mean it doesn't auto run like if you install a game?

    go to my computer and rightclick the cd drive and click open in the menu

    done that nothing happens only brings up a page headed cd drive e. nothing on screen to show what on cd. if you understand me haha

    yep I understand. I just popped in my old Acer resource disc and Power DVD is hiding in Drivers>XP>powerDVD.
    The disk will says on it ACER model number of your computer (eg aspire 1350) resource CD mine is from 2003 so the design might be different to blue Top half and Light Grey bottom

  • I found the same thing with media player so went over to Gom, plays everythig I've thrown at it, if it needs any decoders etc it searches for them.
    I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

    sorry lost you .......you mean the disk that ive been talking about that says dvd -R on it ??
    lost when you say power dvd should i have another disk ?

    I am thinking if you can't find the resource disc for your acer then something like GOM might be your only option

    What do you mean when you say hiding in drivers what do i have to do to look ??

    oh sorry maybe shouldn't use that word hiding. It was on the Resource CD in the drivers folder, not hidden , plain site like all othe files are. Just I wouldn't have put the player in the drivers folder
