Hey thanks Hypno - now why couldn't I do that?
We were thinking of the one you posted Macgirl, but decided not to go the whole hog and didn't even get the price for it - think it's def their most expensive, and my MSE ways would now forbid such a big ticket item....well, until I'm all paid off.....but am happy with our choice overall....being fitted by a friend who is a pro, so will be a liitle cheaper, and he is an absolute perfectionist, so guaranteed a good job. But in a flash of non MSE-ness we are also having all our old floor tiles up, and new ones laid....and it's quite a big space....and even worse, MSE wise....we are having underfloor heating and am american fridge and a wall telly ....and worse still ... *Mrs R whispers, too ashamed to confess to MSE chums*..... a tumble dryer. Well, there's always a lot of wet kit in my house, and a north facing garden in the winter is not the best pace to dry rugby shirts....and the dog will love the floor.
Three sets of friends have IKEAs white gloss kitchens, and are v happy with them.....we just went for this as our friend will pass on his trade discount to us....so it is a bit MSE. Well, kind of. This is my 6th house and is first time have had a new kitchen...so am just a little bit excited!
Thanks again all

I would be excited too!
In my next house, which will be the house I intend staying in forever, it will be the kitchen that sells it to me. It doesn't have to be perfect when I move in, but it has to have perfection potential. My current kitchen is fine, and a good size, but I want a kitchen I can live in!
And I want a built in coffee machine. Ever since I stayed in a house in Norway which had one, I considered it to be the perfect start to the day. Actually, those Scandanavians had a whole host of fantastic kitchen ideas!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Trust me to pick the most expensive! Story of my life  Mine is only a little galley kitchen and we're not staying here, so I don't mind cheap and cheerful.
How exciting for you to have exactly what YOU want rather than making do, that's great! I got a tumble dryer last year after years of protecting my green credentials. I have to say I love it and don't know how/why I ever managed before.
Underfloor heating though, a friend said it is £5 a day to run  - so beware0 -
It looks lovely Mrs R - but there may be a pain barrier to go through whilst fitting going on (or there was here)!! Luckily good bbqing weather but you can get weary of that.
I'd really like a big kitchen with huge fridge/freezer, wall telly etc (got TV in mine which I love as do not feel so cut off and v useful for when ironing) but I'd love a settee in there with a small table so can plonk down with a book and glass of wine - or friends can sit and natter while | am pottering, Well a girl can dream.
Hope kitchen will be all you hoped for Mrs R.0 -

My friend has that sort of kitchen and I covet it......:oSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
