So, is there any rhyme or reason to when that "thanks" button pops up? As would like to thank you all for your recent posts, but am stymied by the missing button. So, anyway, thanks.
And, as I was saying on BTD's diary, I neeeeeed some sun, and soon. Though it is of course so ageing.
But to that end, am currently trying to organise us a summer hol, but have left it late, as usual. Still, have some promising leads on some Eurocamp packages, as want to keep it cheap as, though not actually camp - which is of couse, cheapest of all.
I do love to camp actually, but only for a long weekend - two weeks in a tent WITH NO HAIRDRYER would not a happy Mrs R make. So it's probably a caravan (refuse to say "mobile home", sounds so fakely upwardly mobile) for us.
Even though we do have some money we can put towards a hol, am really quite horrified by how much they cost. However, have found that it may be possible (just) for the 5 of us to scrape in at just under the 2k mark, for 10 or 11 days - long enough for me with my brood in a small space, can tell you. That's mainly as we can go as soon as the older two DSs break up on 9 July, so it will be a little less than peak prices. Still, the hunt goes on, as just remembered Tesco vouchers have a good trade in against hols - but have prob left too late. C'est la vie.
Also, in news from the thrift trenches, my Egg debt has come home to roost with RBS, a little late in the day as the RBS card got debited immediately, and it took a week to reach Egg, so they're both going to be able to charge me interest - but only for 2 weeks max, so could be worse.
Mr R says I just should have lied and said I was still working and got a 0% -honest as the day is long, that's me. But still, have had a good run on 0%s, and 3.9% is not too punitive. And it's only for 6 months, when shall switch it again, hopefully to a 0%. So my balance now is £4465 - am aiming to pay £420 next month. That will be the original RBS debt gone, plus the equivalent of the amount I was paying Egg. And then onto the final stretch with the ex-Egg. Think Mr R might be planning to give me my equivalent in salary for a bit, bit like the old-style housekeeping I suppose, so, if so, will be v good and may even, if I get more freelance stuff, and more cleaning, be able to clear it sooner. As it is, am on track for DF status next April (digits crossed of course). And what a happy day that will be!
Sitting here doing a tooth bleaching session (it's not my best look). I whitened my teeth a couple of years ago, most efffectively, using a kit with 35% peroxide from eBay - a big success. Mr R has just completed a round of dental treatment, so bought him a kit today too, and was thrilled to see prices are even lower - today's was.....£4.98! This is the stuff dentists will cheerily charge you hundreds for, and it really works. All of which prompted me to do a top up myself. Plus am almost at the end of my syringe of gel, so will be able to use his too for my twice yearly refresh. It seems to keep for ages (in the fridge).
Cleaning tomorrow, and using some of the proceeds for a pedi. My treat as spend a lot of time on my feet. And my pedi lady charges a v reasonable £12. This time am fancying a hot bright pink, with no shimmer. Bourjois did one a couple of years ago, that was so perfect, in the One Seconde range, so it had the lovely fat little brush, and was the best ever shade - but for some reason they phased that shade out, and replaced it with lots of horrid non-chic glitters and shimmers. Though I do rather like the Beige Glamour one they do. My pedi lady uses OPI, so will see what they can offer a girl hankering after a bright, clear, hot pink. It will clash nicely with my red Birkis (should the sun ever return).
OK, enough trivia........

A good choice. I am addicted to Mineral Finishing Veil - basically a translucent powder. Am sure this will be teaching granny (well, not granny, obv.....) but you can buy much cheaper on eBay. I bought MV last week for £8.30 inc postage for the 3g pot.

I've got the starter kit plus the smokey eyes kit.......I will be buying more, but will be looking online now I know what they all involve. I was quite surprised at how much better it makes my skin look......am very impressed
I was also surprised at how easy it was to do as well - normally I am terrified when trying something new, but the girl in Debenhams really took her time to show me whats what, without the awful "make up counter girl" patronising chat.....

Oh, and Hypno, if you need a reminder, there are loads of videos on You Tube showing you how to apply Bare Minerals.........
So, the pedi is done....no pinks of the sort I had a hankering for, instead my toes are now resplendent in Violet Extreme - a bit Rouge Noir with a purpley tone and a satiny finish. Now I just need the sun.

Have just been a very very bad and profligate Mrs R and spent a whopping £18.45 on a lipstick!
And another £16.00 on an unusual kind of tunic, and £16.00 on some shorts for Mr R (it's his BD this week). In my defence it was all in Debenhams, so had 25% off - well, the lipstick was only 10%.
Still, it is my very very favourite Dior lipsick in Casual Beige, so is an investment. And the tunic/dress, whilst v cheap, is quite expensive-looking and will be going to a party next month, with my regular black footless tights and some sort of pump. So is actually loads less then I might have spent, had I not snapped this up. It was the only one, so clearly destined for me. And am still in budget - well, kind of.
Think I was affected by the party atmosphere all around me, as our team is in the FA Cup Final today and all those who have not actually gone to Wembley look set to celebrate it all in a very big way. Am going off to our cricket club to watch it myself, as my brood is at Wembley so I have the whole day on my own! Am quite excited, as am a bit of a party girl at heart as you know, and it is unusual for Mr R not to be there, keeping an eye on my proceedings - so some mild flirting with the 20-somethings in the team may just ensue.....well, you've got to keep your eye in, after all.
So a wicked day all round.
