  • I'm going to hold on for as long as possible, I did buy a large fleece blanket yesterday (reduced to £2.99), my DS and I snuggled under it last night to take the chill off whilst we watched a film.

I'm on a tight budget all the time and to be honest last year we wore jumpers and snuggled under duvets on the sofa etc... we probably use central heating from around mid November to mid February and then it's rationed.
  • I haven't got any heating in my house as I am still sorting out getting the boiler installed so I'm glad that it is pretty mild here in Hampshire and no need for the heating yet.
    August £10 a day challenge- £27/£310
  • No need for the heating here in Berkshire yet although I was seriously tempted to get the winter quilt out the other night. It was really cold for 1 night but seems to have warmed up again.

  • It's been far too warm for me to put heating on! I am like kissjen and 1st Oct is the date in which I will allow anyone to go near the thermostat anything before that and I get violent!!! I think I got this from my parents - the heat things and also the violence!!! :p:p:p
Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

  • No heating as yet. Not really that cold here, just closed the windows though the back door is still open quite a bit. Not putting a jumper on either.

I wanted to last till the 1st of November last year and I think I lasted till the last week in October last year so we are aiming for the 1st of November this year to.

    Heating in September? Pah! :D

Not going anywhere near it til October at the earliest. Still have windows locked on the slightly ajar setting, sleep with a window open & always open windows when I'm in

Not cold enough for the central heating yet here in my patch of the midlands, did make a little fire one chilly evening last week but that was more for the glow/ comfort factor while watching a movie- and just burnt my scrap confidential paper and scrap wood from hubby's work, takes a lot to crack open a bag of coal at £9 a pop! and even more to crank up the central heating at god knows how much a therm!!
  • i turned it on the other week when we had three loads of washing to dry and it had been raining for a week:eek:. BUT i did leave the windows open a touch and turned it off when the washing was dry. it was a week after my fuse board went 'pop' and i had to get that fixed over the weekend so i thought i would 'test' the boiler and ch system to make sure i did not have another emergency...

i did not have it on because i was cold - got lovely fleecy winnie the pooh pj's and slippers to keep me warm :j
it's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:
