  • We've had the fire on a couple of times but not the central heating. I could manage without as I have my hot flushes to keep me warm but OH keeps saying he's cold!

I'm sitting here freezing and thinking about it - my house is colder inside than out at the moment.
My brain is telling me the beginning of September is far too early for heating, my shivering is telling me otherwise. Already in the layers, my monthly debit has increased so I'm trying really hard, but I am a wimp and hate being cold.
(Does a real fire count as cheating if I don't turn the central heating on?)

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Far too hot for heating just yet, my windows are still open during the day and at night!

When it comes to the stage of me having to wear a jacket/coat outside all the time and being able to see our breath inside, then the heating will go on.

Edit - I'm not a warm person either, whilst everyone is sweltering, I am just about ok...when everyone is ok, I tend to be slightly chilled.

Right now, I am absolutely fine and everyone else is moaning about being too hot.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
  • i have put it on a couple of times in the last week when dd has gotten me up at 5.30 and its been cold, mainly for her i've just stuck my cardi on.

although it is so miserable in my part of scotland and has rained every day at some point for about a month and it is jsut so drab and dreary it makes me wnat to put it on all the time lol, but i am holding out and just layering up

Don't we just love those Hot Flushes, there I sit in the middle of winter, hoiking clothes away from my body to cool me down, only to be freezing 5 minutes later, while other half sits it comfortable warmth. :(
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.
  • No heating on yet, have a wood burning fire in living room and thats not been used. Trying to hold on for as long as poss.
  • No heating until November at the earliest, and we don't have central heating anyway. Still wearing tshirts and sandals and having doors and windows open. Even in winter we don't out the fire on till the evening so if it's cold I walk round the house wearing my coat. More a case of heatring or eating and we prefer eating

Aiming for 1st November, same as last year. I do feel the cold, but so far still in t-shirt and shorts around the house, with my dressing gown on when it gets a bit nippy later in the evening.

Just hoping that when I turn it on this year I don't get a repeat of last year, when the circulation pump burnt itself out on the second day of use! Well, it was old, and better then than when I'd got used to the heating being on! :rotfl:
