3 is the cheapest, but is it best

I use a nokia 6500c on three in the Leicester area.
No major problems. The occasional dropped call or poor reception. But nothing too bad.
Mark973 - I'd phone three again (from your old phone) and tell them you've been missold (again). When I first got my phone I was told that once I'd made 8 minutes of calls it couldn't be returned. If you've made less than this then try giving it another go.0 -
Hubby has a phone which has supposed water damage they wont do anything about it. The staff are rude and unhelpful I was going to get a phone from them but not now we will never use 3 ever again and will recommend that family and friends dont either.0

Handset: Nokia 6500 Slide
Most commonly used location: Lancashire
Ease and reliability and connection: Poor reception compared to other networks.
Any other problems: Their customer service is very poor. The people just tend not to listen etc, and try to tell you that they are right and the customer i swrong.
Overall service and rating (out of 10): 20 -
3 out of the 4 contracts we had with them are now cancelled, but the 4th one were keeping as i dont think there's a better deal than what we already have which is 1100 crossnet work minutes and 300 texts for £20 amonth unless anyone can tell me otherwise.0

Handset: 6500 slide
Most commonly used location: manchester
Ease and reliability and connection: it's got better with time. At first the connection was awful but it has improved. Saying that when I put the sim care in my old Nokia handset I have had no issues with signal.
Any other problems: The phone has been faulty from day one and I'm bringing it in to be replaced soon. It freezes, it crashes and its current problem is that it cannot connect to the memory so my messages are not being shown.
Overall service and rating (out of 10): 4.

I started a contract with 3 a few years back and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Their deals, believe me, look great, and I dont think you can find anything like them on the market. But where are they cutting the costs to do this? If it was possible, do you not think the other big networks would be offering these aswel?
I cancelled my contract the day after I got it. Thanks to it being over the phone I had Distance Selling Regulations behind me, so I called the company the next day and asked for the details to send the phone back etc. I did this and I still received letters asking for payments. Bills with numbers called in England (I stay in Scotland and the sim was split so it couldn't be used), and letters from debt collection agencies. After 3 months of worry and calls, they finally stopped. I know back then it wasn't a UK call centre I was dealing with so they didn't know what i was talking about half the time. And I'm not discriminating against these agents, as they come in and do their job, just like the rest of us.
But with that experience, I wouldn't go near them with a barge pole. I'm with Orange, and now moving to T-mobile, more because I work for them, but I like using the internet and they are the only network with no sneaky costs if you go over your fair use policy.0 -
I am really tempted to get a contract with three since I really like the unit which is Nokia E71 and they are the only network offering a very good tariff, however, in spite of that crave, I did not push through since I have this fear about how poor their customer service is.....0

I've found this thread very interesting as I'm looking for a new phone and a new contract seems to be the cheepest way, as many on here have said the deals that 3 offer are very tempting but after reading this its made me very wary of signing up with the 3 network, are they still as bad as previously mentioned or are things getting better for anyone. I went in phones for you and was offered the Nokia 6220 for £50 and 300 minutes or txts for £15 a month for 18 months, it would appear that no one else can match this deal (I'm currently with O2 on the sim only deal)0

actually, a variant of the 300 mins or texts for £15 month on 3 is 100mins and 200 texts on T-mobile on the combi price plan. Vodaphone who do unlimited texts, although to call another network is 40p /min which is pretty steep in my opinion. Orange haven't got much, and the only one they do have is a 24mnth contract. Nothing much on o2. Just checked the websites. Very bored tonight0

Do not go with 3 mate. You will regret it big time. Have a look at this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1031365
Thousands of people like me are getting their term and conditions changed. I am only 2 months into an 18 month contract and I will now be 300 minutes a month worse off. They are the cheapest for a reason.0
