Yep middle one for me as well, you can pick up the flower colour with cushion covers or as edging to your curtains.

My settee is the color of the flower. I have a man coming to measure on Tuesday.

Valli thanks for your vote too.

Mrs B - I read a lot - in my drop out years I worked full time in a second hand bookshop which was great if very badly paid. I do have a hooked rug making kit for winter which will probably take me another couple of years to complete at current rate of progress. and a bead loom thingy. I don't get hobbies (or wallpaper :p).

So cold here that we have the stove on. Need to get some wood ordered next week, and to build some sort of woodstore with my pallet collection. House is a tip again - we seem to have a rash of clutter appearing despite the removal of SS1 who I though was the worst offender.

Must at least do the kitchen, and yet more WM.....

    Morning all (well, not quite)

Will be popping back on to upldate list later. DH has been to Sains and got everything we need for this week's meals (did the mealplan first). WM is on and DH is cleaning out the fridge. In laws for lunch (i did offer to do it but MiL won't have it - i'd actually like to help!) and then a bit more flying.

Oh and AF is here so I'm a bit fragile! Better go and have a shower, can't really turn up for lunch in my pjs.

You'd be surprised... I have a 'natural' coloured carpet, so small marks don't show, and it's been surprisingly resilient to spills/dirt/dog. I hate it, but it's very hard-wearing... I want to replace it with bamboo flooring sometime. My parents have moth problems, so have put in a synthetic carpet - it's natural, but very hardwearing and the dirt seems to just sit on top of it.

For anyone worried about dust-mites in bedding, I've found this ... not cheap, but might be worth trying. I'm looking for a new kingsize duvet as I've taken the spare room one down to Devon as the ones there were ancient/disgusting (the feather one had feathers/dustmites at the ends but not in the middle and the wool one was damp from having been kept in a plastic bag ) and will now be used as dog bedding. I have a 3-in-1 goosedown duvet on my bed at the moment, so need to decide what to get for the spare room so that I can change them all round depending on the season. I suppose a lightweight one is best as its easiest to store and I can supplement it with blankets/bedcovers in winter. Any thoughts would be appreciated... I'd quite like to try to get an organic one too, to minimise the chemical content of the house!

I also need to get two cheap singles for the cottage in devon as the ones currently there are ancient and about as much use as a tissue for keeping you warm!

Greenbee - can I ask where you get your cereal mix ingredients from?
I'm not sure I have ever seen the various flakes in the supermarket (or maybe just not been in the right place)

Crafty if you are having problems sorcing the flakes Lidl have museli on special offer just now £1 a 750g bag. Luxury fruit and nut contains 50% fruit & nuts and the luxury fruit has 45% fruit. I like the both of them says she that is eating a bowl and trying to type at the same time:rolleyes:

Good afternoon everyone. Had some more bother with the teenagers friends from next door last night. They were in their yard drinking all afternoon. Then last night they decided to walk, jump etc on my back wall and into the yard. This went on for a while. It was when I saw them throw their chip papers down I saw red. Which isnt like me really. I flew out the back door and told them to go away but a bit less politely. I think they got such a shock they didnt say a word and left. Got told off by DD for going out to them. I did tell them I would ring the police as well.

    Washing put away
    recycling out.
    dailies done.
