Right, not a good start to the day. Telling a load of mum's to get a life and stop interfering with a load of stuff that's totally out of our control (a teacher has been told he's got a life threatening illness so needs to leave so teacher's are being swapped around) has not endeared me to anyone. I can't believe people are complaining. He didn't choose to get ill and he's got 3 children under 6. Deep breath!!!!

Some people are so selfish:eek: Good on you for telling them though.

Well done to your DD Pigpen, those are good results and hopefully she can better them next time. Are you going away for a dirty weekend?

    Nice to see you Valli:T

Need to go clean the bathroom and wash my hair.

I can't believe they were complaining either - do they have no compassion? Some people make me so mad! Well done on telling them what's what. Stupid people

Hugs Kazm, hope you are ok

Pigpen your DD did really well with her results, shame about the retakes – what does she think of that?

DD1 (yr 11) got her GCSE results through and is having to resit them all as her teachers are not happy with her grades..

    Maths A
    RE A
    Science B
    English B
    French C

The teachers said they want straight A*'s so she is resitting in November.

Is she OK with this decision, and do you think it will be a positive experience for her? She doesn't NEED the grades for either of the careers she's considering (although she may well change her mind several times before settling on something anyway!), so there's no point in her retaking if it's going to put negative pressure on her. However, if it will make her realise that by doing the job properly the first time, you only have to do it once, then it'll be a good thing. I'm sure you'll have thought all this through - as long as its right for her, and not just for the school league tables!

Overslept this morning, and then finished my book in bed. Packed up the sails I washed yesterday. Need to finish breakfast, then go to the shop, rinse the last of the sails, bung on a load of washing and then hopefully find that the wind has dropped enough for me to get out on the water today!
