setting off soon to collect DS to go to his first proper 11 plus exam - the practice paper on Tuesday was a nightmare - he said it was a lot harder than the papers we have been practising over the summer - oh well - fingers crossed.

Not getting far, phoned solicitor as I got a letter asking me to give a statement.
Put a few more photos in the album. Think I'll go to the farm shop next.

Piggers, well done for your DD. I agree with the others in lots of respects. Resists are hard if you are having no extra teaching, some of the stuff she will have learnt 2 years ago. Are they complete grades or modules? DS1 is going to resit his chemistry module as he was nearly there with the grade and he did better in his first paper so it will knock up his overall mark. The school will have the exact marks. So she may have missed the grade by a mark or two. French - is she resitting all modules and resubmitting coursework? That is a big ask. It is easy for schools to become obsessed with children not making their predicted grades and for them to want to up there average. Some subjects (eg History/English) you can simply get a question you prefer and do better (or the other way around!). The most important thing though is how she feels for she is the one who will have to revise and retake and also to check that it will not impact upon her work in the other GCSEs she still has to take (I'm guessing she took some early in Yr10 as is now the trend).

    Mudders
    - glad you spoke out, some people simply 'do not get it' do they!

  • right HHC starting in 1 min......
  • pigpen i think your dd's results are great, can't believe the teachers are putting so much pressure on with expecting straight A's

Orkney star, my name in real world is Donna- bet you didn't guess that ;)

well the run went much better than i expected so i'm feeling really chuffed - all that training on wii fit over the last month or so has obviously stopped me from becoming too unfit through the summer- just celebrating now with a cuppa and a Time out bar :j

suppose then i'd better get on with the list- will need protective clothing on before entering ds room

Think i'll start with a HHC 11.15- 11.45 anyone up for it?
go on you know you want to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My name is different, none of my friends would know it was me if I used my MSE user name! I've put my MSE name on my page tho in case you forget who I am IYSWIM

In my HHC I washed up, started the WM and cleaned the kitchen a bit.

I've given up meal planning, it doesn't work for us. A lot of our meals are using up leftovers, so there's no point meal planning as I wasn't sticking to it! LOL!

I've decided to make a draft excluder out of the sleeves of an old cordorouy coat, so that I can keep warmer in the winter. I'd like to put a curtain over the front door too but I don't think our LL would let us put a curtain rail up over the front door. Not going to do the draft excluder today, but it's on my mental to do list!
