visit to wilko bought some aubergine voile curtains to brighten up windows at back..need to buy or accumulate a thin pole to fix them up but no rush yet as main curtains need to be washed and turned up first

I have muslin curtains under the main curtains in my bedroom and thought I'd need to do this but couldn't find anything I liked. My solution (much cheaper) was curtain wire. If your main curtains are on a pole rather than rail, put a hook on each end of the wire. At one end, wrap the wire round the fixing for the pole and hook it back on itself. Thread the curtain on. If there is a middle fixing, pull the wire as tight as you can, wrap it round the middle fixing, thread the other curtain on, and wrap the end round the final fixing, hooking it back on itself.

Hope this makes sense... you have to make sure the wire is really tight, but it's cheap, easy and effective!

I don't start the new job for another 2.5 weeks, and they've already booked my flights for my second week!

Suppose I should get dressed and go out and make the most of the sunshine...
