  • Somewhat different tale to other posters on here, I have a bungalow on the market in Cornwall, put on end of June bbut HIP took 4 weeks to complete so only on Rightmove since the end of July, 2 viewers so far no offers....

BUT the EA's there have all said that August is a bad month to sell in Cornwall, so hopefully now it's September there will be more interest. Also Rightmove report shows a lot more hits, so fingers crossed.

  • my property has been on the market since february but not a single viewer at all.

it's very competitively priced and in a great location. for me the market is stagnant.

Got a rightmove URL of the listing? To have no viewings at all since Feburary, is very poor. Have you considered changing agents?

Ours was put on the market last Wednesday and we had three viewings on Saturday. It was with the agent on a "to let or for sale" basis with the let being advertisied a month ago with no offers. The agent said the sales market is busy and rental is dead.

We got an offer to rent via Gumtree and they want to move in end of month so not sure what to do. Accept the rental or leave it on the market with the hope of finding a buyer soon. It's a basement flat so it is probably harder to sell than the average property.

Be very very careful..lots of scams on that site.....tread carefully...
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

We got our first viewers after a month of the house being on the market. They made an offer, which we accepted, but then failed to get a mortgage (although we had been told that it was sorted when they put the offer in ).
A month later, we've just had our 2nd viewers through the door - good feedback but as yet, no offer.

    We're in Wirral.

market is dead in wirral..the average selling time for a ch postcode is 200+ days...so hang in there..

We put ours on the market through housenetwork last Thursday, it was up on Rightmove on Friday and we had a request for a viewing for the saturday. They came round and seemed to like it and requested a second viewing on the spot for this weekend. They're just about to exchange contracts on their home too so are in a good position. Fingers crossed they put an offer in now! Apart from that though we've had no other viewing requests (only been 5 days though I guess....)

I was the same as you - on the market since March and no viewings. I mystery shopped my EA and discovered why then sacked them. With new EA 1 month and had my first viewing last weekend. They are very interested in the house. I would check out your EA.

Could everyone please put which area they live in and then we could try and build up a picture of how things are going around the country
Smile though your bank is breaking:)
  • We had 5 viewings in 4 weeks and one offer 10K under asking price which we accepted.

Unfortunately their buyer has pulled out so it looks like we're going back on the market again this weekend. :(

    This is in Essex
  • My boyfriend's flat has been on the market for almost 6 months and we've not had one viewer yet. I'm getting really impatient as we are looking to buy a bigger house. I'm ready to tear my hair out. Just don't know where to turn next. Anyone have any advice? I have thought about getting him to change agents.

It's in West Yorkshire, relatively new build apartment.

We too are trying to sell a house, not a flat, in Leeds. We have had a lot of interest recently, but no offers yet.

I really feel for you as the market for flats around here is pretty dead, since lots were built recently for the btl market and prices have dropped massively.

Is it priced competitively? If you can't even get people through the door then it's usually about price.
