Upgrade Edition (PC DVD) ??? Upgrade... When did this happen! I thought they were only selling full versions.
Since the proposed ballot screen was deemed sufficient to satisfy the EU's meddling. IIRC, the full version for the price of an upgrade version offer ended as of the 1st of September.0

You're literally the only person I've heard of having problems so I'd say this should be treated as an isolated issue rather than 'thinking twice'.0

Why then, is the full version still available for sale and is even one pence cheaper than the upgrade version?0

Don't know, but I wouldn't be confident in placing a pre order for the full version now and expect it to be honoured.

]Here's[/url] where I got the details from:For customers who have already pre-ordered the full version of Windows 7 E in the EU – either as part of special pre-order offers or otherwise – they will receive full versions of Windows 7 that include Internet Explorer 8. These customers, and any other customer who pre-orders Windows 7 before upgrade versions are available on September 1, will still be able to get upgrade pricing for Windows 7 full versions.0

There's a 90-day trial of the Enterprise edition doing the rounds at the moment. Why wait?I'm pretty sure you can't download the release candidate or get a valid key for it anymore, so you'll have to wait for the real thing to go on sale. 0 0

Ok, but that text does not imply that those who purchase the full version after September 1st will only receive the upgrade version - and it wouldn't be legal anyway.0

It's not suggesting that would be the case.
The promotional prices due to the EU situation which gave the best deal have now expired. If you didn't take advantage of the situation when you could, you can't now. Back to the classical way of pricing for a full or upgrade version.0

I'll be getting Windows 7 with a new PC to replace my old Pentium 4 that I'm currently using
I hope they bring out some new model PC's because there seems to be nothing decent in the shops at the moment.0

I believe Microsoft said they will be charging the upgrade price for the full version of Windows 7 until the end of this year. Even since they got rid of the 'E' version. That's why Amazon etc. is offering the full version at the same price as the upgrade.
