Steph - contact your mobile phone company about the text messages and the police..there is something called the malicious communications act and these calls would come under that..anyone found to be making malicious communications can face a hefty fine or prison sentence. Don't tell your ex..just contact the police and maybe say who you suspect is sending them and let them handle it. Try not to upset yourself.:grouphug:

i think horace has it again steph - take the high road. If hes given your number out then its very childish. Id report the texts and just make sure you dont send any abuse back or you might get into trouble to!

oh and put your phone of at night! i generally find when people are annoyed at you then not answering annoys them more than any reply you could make
hope it all gets sorted an make sure you eat something healthy you dont wanna get ill.

back to Becks - It would be interesting to see how much this guy is making but surely after a while word of mouth will spread and buisness will fall?

I have reported it to Orange hopefully they will do something about it. If I get some tonight I'll go to the police. When he said he didn't give my number out I do believe him because it's not his style.

I only replied to ask who they was but they wouldn't tell me but I'm sure it's his sister, Now he knows about it he will know it's his sister too.

I can't eat anything I just feel so sick with it all I'm so tired. I tried some pizza before but just threw it back up :(

Sorry Beks I'm taking over again :(

Thank you! That would be really useful, much appreciated. Might make interesting reading. I have very mixed feelings on whether his business has prospered! :)

Horace - I think what you say is correct although I seem to remember when we booked, he said he had done over 100 weddings in 2009. Some of those could possibly be the ones also sueing him I guess. :(

It's strange that practically every other government approved establishment is regularly inspected and has to reach unbelievably stringent standards and yet places which have been granted a licence to hold weddings are not held to account - or are they?

I think its the local registry office that grants the licence - and, although, don't quote me on this should be able to recind the licence.

yes, it does seem a little unbelievable!
I do have a contact (from someone on here) for the appropraite people to contact when they are problems. However, I havent contacted them yet as I wanted to wait until we had our issue sorted (I had no idea we would be waiting this long though!!).

It does seem like this whole thing is one big soap opera. Had I known it would be like this, I am not sure I would have pursued it in the first place. :o

Beks - I have been making some calls this morning - I phoned the general register office and they have advised me that I (you) can read the Approved Premises Regulations which can be found on google and you need to speak to the local authority eg. Kent County Council as they issue the venue license, usually a license is taken away if the venue performs a religious service. I shall be looking at the approved premises regulations anyway and have a read to see if the license can be removed for other reasons eg. weddings not being handled properly, being sued by brides for ruining their day etc.

Thanks Horace, I have had a look through the Approved Premises Regulations and I can't see anything on there which the venue are not complying with (it is all pretty general which doesnt seem hard to fail). It seems it has to be renewed every three years and the venue can have an inspection undertaken at any time. It is certainly worth me contacting Kent Council Council, even if it is just to voice my complaint. I am pretty sure though that KCC are already aware of a situation at the venue from what a poster on here has said but it wont do any harm to discuss it with them aswell.
    JCS1 thank you. :)
