I feel like i am the ONLY person who doesnt know the venue, but i havent read through all the thread properly just skim read the fisrt 25 pages.
I still rush to open this thread when i see it pop up - anxiously waiting to see if it has been anmed yet.
I feel like an expectant granny waiting for my first granchild to be born.
Bailiffs are usually petty hot, especially court bailiffs, i know its not the same but its a similar scenario, when my mum took my dad to court fpr maintainence as he refused to pay, the jusge ordered he pay over £5k and that the bailiffs would enforce it, my mum had her money in the bank a few weeks later, they took everything he owened and sold it off to cover the debt. I know its different as this is a business, im not sure what they would do, but usually thelaw takes a harder stand against businesses.
I just worry that he uses someones elses deposit to pay you back and they end up in the same boat as you.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -
Thank you all so much for everything!!! Without you guys we would never have got this far. The times when I have been down and have been at the end of my tether with this, someone has helped to pick me up and keep my motivation going :T.
When I initially posted on the board, I thought the reaction I would get would be one of disbelief (at my ineptitude) and 'serves you right' for a) not checking out the reviews before booking and b) not chasing up for the receipt after booking. But all I received is support and advice from people who have taken the time to respond and give me the encouragement and knowledge I needed. I truly cannot believe the community response here and I am so grateful and wish there was a way to say thank you to each and every one of you. There are too many individuals to mention by name but you know who you are and your support and kindness it greatly appreciated.
It is not over yet but I do feel a huge relief that we have conquered the last hurdle and hope that the finishing line is within reach. At some point in the near future, I hope we can move on and forget this nightmare and look to planning our wedding again (depending on OHs north pole situation, it could be a winter wedding this year or an autumn wedding next year!!).
As for naming and shaming, once the money has been paid back (and I hope it wont be too long before bailiffs get going), I will edit the title of this thread to include the name of the venue (princesswoo you are not the only one who doesnt know - if it was me I wouldnt have worked it out and still not sure how some people still are but its not too important now!).
Sorry to everyone for having to trawl through a rediculous number of pages to get the storyline!! But thanks for persevering with it too!!
Thanks everyone, we are forever in your debt. More waiting now until we get the money back (I am still trying to work out why he bothered though - all he managed to gain by applying to the court to set aside judgment was to spend another £75 (oh what a shame!!). Oh well, the mind boggles!!!0 -
Beks I'm just so glad that you have got the result you deserved. It's nice to see that you have had so much support when you look over the last 35 pages we are one big family even though we are strangers we will stick together through thick and thin and this is what we have to carry on doing.
What goes around comes around love don't forget that karma and trip advisor will get him soon(evil laugh) and when it does we will all be stood there in our dresses with pitch forks.
You will get the wedding you deserve to have and having had this it will make you look forward to it alot more I hope but we will be with you every step of the way just to make sure that your day is exactly what you want.
I hope you will keep us updated on your plans ect
Love and best wishes

Glad it was good news, maybe he thought he was invincible?!0

Beks..I wish your OH luck with the North Pole Challenge, I saw it on the news the other day and the fact that Prince Harry has offered to go too, if he is allowed:j
You and OH will have the best wedding day ever - I just know it:D0 -
Yey Congrats on the good news Beks. Lets just hope the bailiffs can get all they need, which shouldn't bee too hard. I'm guessing he has alcohol and tables and chairs
On a sad note though, have you seen the new trip advisor review?
What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -

Just read it ~ nothing would suprise me now!
Beks, when you have your money back and name and shame, don't forget to go and leave a review of your own on trip advisor and I'd also post a link to this thread on the other wedding forums that are out there.
I wonder if you would know when bailiffs would be going in? I'd love to be a fly on the wall then!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Yey! Have been eagerly awaiting result. SO chuffed for you both. I am with Princess Woo as I have no idea so will be waiting for the chance to find out where it is and bad mouth to everyone : ) Despite the fact I'm not in your area!0
-
beks - sorry if I've missed it, but have you decided what you're doing about publicity?
If it were me, I'm not sure I'd want it in the national press after it's all over as I'd just want to get on with my new wedding, but I would be very tempted to get it into local papers. Not everyone goes online when looking at venues, certainly not everyone checks TripAdvisor. I'd try and get the story in the local papers so that as many people as possible are warned.
I know there will be brides who are already signed up and forced to go there, but I think the fewer who are caught in the future the better...
And princesswoo - I haven't worked it out either! I don't know how people are doing it. :rotfl:0
