Hello :hello:
Well ... can't believe it's nearly 2pm already - today is flying by!!
I woke up in a terrible mood (I think it's soooooo unfair that I am irrational and a monster once a month just for being a woman  ... should be rewarded not punished) anyway after stripping beds, icing cakes, going to church and drinking a strong coffee I felt practically human.
I batch cooked mince yesterday and made some mince and potato pies which will be for tea on Tuesday. We've just had mince filled yorkshires, tomorrow spag bol and Wed will be a shepherds pie. That's meals sorted til Wed .... the rest of the house ... well .... ummmmmm
I started a new morning routine with the kids when they went back to school which is helping loads as mornings have always been a nightmare because despite knowing I should get everything ready the night before I never have done
. I've made a uniform box and when I sort the washing out just pop the uniforms in to the box along with underwear so everything is in one place. They have to get dressed, breakfast, wash face, clean teeth, make beds and have shoes and coats on before they can switch tv on :T:cool:
Housework wise - I need to do some  Might Flylady this week as could do with a kick up the backside
Moneysavingdiva - loving the fence :T I would never have thought of purple but it looks fab :T

Re the washing m/c tumble drier on before 10 a.m. I'm afraid I'm quite selfish as if DD's wet bed in night the last thing I want is to wake up to a pile of smelly wet sheets so I strip the bed and put it in wm in the middle of the night
Dizzybuff I'm SM and last year worked full time with 2 x DD's under 8. I found making a roast chicken on a Sunday really helped because while it was cooking I would make the sandwiches for the week for all 3 of our lunch boxes and froze them. I would also do a tray bake - one cold (fridge cake) one hot (sponge) in preparation for the week to come. When the chicken is cooked I still strip the whole lot and then make stock from the bones (one lot for chicken soup the following night and one lot for freezing) and then shred all the chicken apart frome the 2 breast which I slice for the roast dinner. I then make a simple white sauce and mix shredded chicken in for chicken and s/corn pie and chicken pasta sauce and then do chicken and rice and a chicken salad with the rest.JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -
Hello everyone :j :j
I've been missing in action for so long and I do apologise! However, it was worthwhile as I've been using my summer holiday from school to a) go on holiday and b) earn more money. I had to live with my parents for 4 weeks in order to earn the money, but DH seemed to survive without me - in fact, he told my mum that it was "peaceful". Damned cheek.
All being well, the same work will be available next summer so that will be another added bonus to the coffers.
I go back to school tomorrow, with the children returning on Tuesday. I'm hoping for a less stressful class this year. We'll see! I'm still teaching Year 2, so at least I'm more confident in my resources etc.
Anyway, OS wise we've got a freezer full of food. DH made a vat of chilli con carne, we were given loads of meat left over from my mum's 60th birthday party so that's taking up one drawer in the freezer and last night I made a spag bol, with the other portions nestling by the side of the chilli! I've also meal planned, mainly due to the fact that I did my weekly shop on Friday and didn't buy enough tins of tomatoes which is the staple ingredient in my cupboard. I know I could always pop back in for another couple, but then I'd also come out with more than I went in for!
By the way, if anyone can remember my mum having breast cancer, she had her last radiotherapy session 2 days after her 60th birthday and she's been told that she is cancer free. :j Basically because she's had it all chopped out of her, zapped and chemoed. She's no longer wearing her wig as she's got some hair on the top of her head.
However, it is grey which she's not too happy about
.
I'm going to take my laminator downstairs and get some more resources made. Anyone fancy helping me cut them up?Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 #18 £2021.83 declared0 -

Great news about your mum VickyA, what a relief to you all.
Haven't done much today. I've listened to the Worcester v Northants rugby match on the radio. We were robbed of victory at the last minute:(. I've also jumped up and down squealing excitedly as a Spitfire flew over the house:)
What else? Oh yes, I accidently ordered Jamie Oliver's new book:rolleyes: I've had a look at it in WH Smith's and I wasn't going to get it but there's a really good review on Amazon listing some of the recipes and I caved in:o I'm not watching the TV programme as I don't like him on telly.
Lunch today was a really yummy pasta dish which I came up with on the spur of the moment.
Pasta with pea pesto
Cook a couple of handfuls of peas with a few cloves of garlic so the garlic becomes soft. Drain. Peel the garlic. Tip peas and garlic in the food processor with some chunks of parmesn, a handful of basil some olive oil, a bit of salt and spoonful of crème fraîche. Blitz until you have a bright green puree. Toss with fusilli and garnish with bits of crisp bacon.
The pesto would also be good as a dip, or spread on bruschetta, or served alonside fish.
Supper is going to be a chicken casserole with white wine, cream and mushrooms plus a dash of Calvados to remind us of our holiday. We have little chocolate creams and raspberries for pudding.
Must remember to make 4 packed lunches instead of 1 for tomorrow.
Ooh I'm looking forward to tomorrow when they all go back to school:j:j They're all looking forward to it too actually, 7 weeks has been too long.0 -

Afternoon all
We have had a lovely afternoon, we ended up going for a ride out to Castle Howard (think Brideshead revisited). Had a lovely walk around and lunch there. I can't believe that there is such a lovely place on our doorstep and this is the first time that we have visited it! There is a lovely caravan site there too so we might have a weekend there before the end of the season so we can have a better look/walk around.
Washing dried on line whilst we were out and just got home before the drizzle started. Just ironing to do this evening now. I want to have all my clothes ready for the jury service this week (and next) so that I am not panicking on the mornings.
Hope you all have nice evenings

Afternoon All
VickyA :jexcellent news :T
MSD - you really have a lovely garden.
Am posting late today as the last few days I have been posting what I am to get done and none of it does (for various reasons) so today I have got with everything and got loads done. Am now sitting in front of the telly in a gleaming house, the cleanest it has been for 6 weeks :j actually because work has been so mad I didnt even realise how bad it was. Just waiting for the last of the bedding to dry then the beds will be remade. Had a discount code for my catalogue so have lovely new duvets to put on the beds, the old ones have been relegated to the dogs.
Had dinner at lunchtime so just need a snack for tea, probably cheese n crackers. Just about to do next weeks menuplan & start the shopping list. Desperately want some cranberry sauce as my favourite sandwich at the moment is brie and cranberry. Will stock up for Xmas too so then I can say Ive made a start on my xmas food shopping.:D
Am very tired but also very pleased with myself, aim for this coming week is = paperwork up straight, keep on top of housework and do some deep cleaning jobs. DS' birthday is in a couple of weeks so need to get that sorted before Xmas shopping. Darn it, just as I am typing this i have realised that it's OH's parents wedding anniversary today  oh best order some flowers for tomorrow.
Have a lovely Sunday evening.x0 -
OK, chicken roasted, half eaten and half in fridge to make pie tomorrow. Half of today's veg also in fridge to go with it.
Bread and butter pudding made with stale bread and surplus eggs, didn't touch the sides of my rabble
Twinks Hobnobs made, and fruit soaking to make tea-bread tomorrow.
Corned beef pasties defrosted and baked for OH's lunchbox tomorrow.
Only spent £47 in the supermarket :T
Picked up a free Morrisons magazine which has a recipe for a plum upside down cake, which I think I will try this week as I have lots of plums.
Have done about 6 loads of washing (unfortunately had to TD them all as it has been raining all day), and the house looks almost in order ready for another week!
So tonight I shall be enjoying a long hot bath and a good book as a reward
