Hubby makes dinner on a sunday as i am at work 12.30pm til 4.30pm.
I attempted to make carrot and orange gluten free muffins last night.....i forgot to put sugar in them:rolleyes: the kids liked them but hubby didn't. So will have to make some different ones later
Hope everyone has a good day

Flew round yesterday getting everything done, got the 1/2 shoulder of lamb so i cooked one and put the other 4 in the freezer, a nice change from my usual rubber chicken. Lamb roast already plated up for lunch today.I remembered my mum always did onion sauce with lamb, so made that as well, a taste of my childhood :heartsmil froze the rest of the sauce in yog pots for next time.

Good morning guys,
Lots of pottering to do today, last wash is on and then a huge pile of ironing to do this afternoon while we watch the Harry Potter film I sky+'d the other night.
The house was blitzed yesterday so a quick swish and hoover to do when the kids go to bed. I have to cut a new curtain rail and fit it for the small window in the utility, 2nd coat the last door with gloss, get the sewing machine out for my work overall amongst other bits of jobs to do.
Lunch will be something on toast and tea will be a 'roast' with some left over cooked/sliced lamb I've pulled from the freezer.
Hope everyone is OK and gentle hugs to all in need of one today.

Morning everyone.
Had a lie in this morning and my back is now killing me. Seems I have too options - either spend my days feeling dog tired but mobile or lie in feel a bit refreshed but have a tetchy back.......oh the agony of choice
Went into Stratford Upon Avon yesterday as they have a lovely kids play area the otherside of the river. So kids had a couple of hours play, walked into the town over the bridge, saw all the geese and swans, had some chips from my fave chippie
and picked up a copy of How to Feed You Family A Healthy Balanced Diet With Very Little Money....and hardly any time etc etc - bargain for £3.99 from the Works I think
Have started reading it and am enjoying it so far.
Bit of a sombre day today. it was 16 years ago that H's mum passed away. I met him 2 weeks after she died so I never had the priviledge of meeting her
So on that rather solemn note I shall head off and catch up with the rest of yesterdays thread.
Hugs to those that need them. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Morning Chums ,
Hope everyone is having a great week-end. I have just been pottering about still as my arm is playing me up a bit after my fall on holiday .I have an appointment to see the breast care nurse at the clinic on Wednesday so hopefully she may be able to help. Its a blooming nuisance as I can't do any knitting and I wanted to make some bed socks for my DGD that she was after .She has very bad circulation and her feet are always freezing. Both of the DGD's enrolled in their college courses on Friday and are full of beans about it I hope they will enjoy themselves there.
Youngest DD is at work today down at the Dockyard as a tour guide She is in the 'pool' for work as and when, so the odd day comes in handy for her.Her OH is very good, and will cook the Sunday dinner for when she gets home at 5. He is a lovely cook and likes to experiment with different sauces. I shall go around about 3.00 this afternoon as I always play cards or games with the little boys on a Sunday afternoon, then help out with the prepping for dinner tonight.
Well all the children will be back at school tomorrow and the next thing that will be looming on the horizon will be Christmas. I have bought a few bits and bobs already, but will be keeping a sharp eye out for some bargains between now and December I also have 6 family birthdays in the four weeks up to Christmas so I have to start early .I have made all of my cards already thank goodness I am hopeing my bad arm will heal up a bit quicker as I have several knitting projects that I want to get on with .One of my DGS want a Chelsea Blanket knitted for his bed, I did one for my eldest DGS a few years ago in West Ham colours and it reallly looks nice and he is coming up for 19 now and still likes his 'blanky' when he's feeling poorly, bless him.
Well time to get a wriggle on have a good day everyone
Cheers JackieO xx0 -

Aww, thank you
I do miss the OS way when we're not focused on it. Sometimes though it's easier to go for convenience
:o
Anyway, I've done this week's menu plan. Stuck some chicken breast strips in the SC with a tomato and veg based sauce, which I will serve with either rice or couscous. [We'll be using up the frozen chocolate sponge for after though!]
I've put some yoghurt in the easiyo, which should be ready about 4.30 and am contemplating making some wholemeal rolls? Will see how much [STRIKE]time I spend on here[/STRIKE] energy I have, lol! There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. Stratford is one of my favourite places Bitsy, and the park is lovely, although DDs are getting too old for it now
If you're a regular Stratford visitor, this is on until the end of October:

They have actors performing snippets of Shakespeare's plays in the gardens, and they are very good. Mary Arden's is another favourite of DDs.There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -

I think it's practice. I come from a long line of list making meal planners, I remember my mum and my Grandma both used to write in their diaries what was for dinner every day for the week ahead, and make a list for the weekly shop from that. They also used to have set days for different household chores. When I left home it was just second nature to me, in fact I was amazed to discover that not everyone made a list before they went shopping! I think a lot of people have always thought I was a bit old fashioned, but I'm having the last laugh now that being thrifty is fashionable again!0
