I haven't been to Tenerife before so am wondering which is the best beach as I would like to stay near it.
Also, if anyone can recommend any hotels/apartments that would be most appreciated, I like recommendations rather than just guessing!!!
Oh and I am also searching for a map of the resort with all the hotels etc on it, but no luck. Anyone able to help?
OK, that's 3 requests for help so I'll stop here. Thanks in advance! xo
p.s. going in February.

I don't think the beaches on Tenerife are as good as the best beaches on Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria. The best on Tenerife in my opinion is Playa del Duque. Info on beaches here - http://www.costa-adeje.es/public/pag_contenido.asp?id_nodo=4&idioma=10

Playa del Duque is the best beach but it is quite out of the way.
There is a lovely hotel but it is very expensive.

There's also a nice beach between Playa de las America & Los Cristianos with a lot of hotels in the area.

PDLA is the chavviest place on earth.
Rebook and go somewhere else0 -
Thanks for the replies. We haven't booked yet so are still open to suggestions. I'm going with my mum and she wants the Canaries. We would try LZ but friends have said that it's quite cool at that time of year. Apparently Tenerife and GC are warmer, is that right?
Anyway, we just want somewhere without lager louts but with plenty of restaurants etc. So someone recommended PDLA. If any of you lovely people have any other suggestions, I will be most grateful to hear them.
Thanks for the maps also, I have googled but couldn't find those!
And the TripAdvisor suggestion is a good'un, but I was just hoping for some recommendations too. You know, sometimes people have been to one particular place that they loved and are happy to share the info.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Hi Tara,
a few year ago we went to Los Cristianos, it was much better than PDLA los cristianos was nice and quieter yet you could get a taxi to the more busy places and then come back to the quiet again. PDLA is full of young kids getting drunk, and very loud. ok to visit and have a drink but very nice then to leave to a quiet place and leave the noise.
We also stayed in Los Cristianos, 2 years ago, and I would recommend it. LC is next door to PDLA and within easy reach of it, but much quieter in the evenings. You could walk along from LC Harbour, along the beaches to PDLA (no need for a taxi, it was only a 20 min walk). The beaches there at PDLA were lovely but the town there in the evening was OTT - noisy, chavvy and full of v expensive shops, nightclubs, lagerlouts. Glad we were not staying there.
Then we strolled back to LC Harbour for a choice of waterfront restaurants - without the noise and '18-30 atmosphere' that sums up PDLA. There's a waterpark nearby and Mount Tiede to visit, as well as Loro Parque (parrot park). You can take a boat trip from LC Harbour to 'see dolphins & whales' but that just made us feel ill, don't choose the 'pirate' ship!!
We didn't hire a car, as taxis and buses were easy to get and the distances to various excursions are short anyway. We stayed here because it was run by an English couple and I booked the holiday DIY, I got recommendations from Trip Advisor etc. and it was great:

HTH, this is only my opinion and I have no connection with the company so I am not spamming! All I can say is the place does exist and you do get the apartment you book - the same apartments were more expensive through Cosmos (but were in their brochure if you want to see pics). The couple in the website are on site and are very helpful.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Don't think I would stay in PDLA if I got a free holiday there. It may be a bit more tolerable off season.
Fanabe beach in Costa Adje is very nice, as is the area itself, nice clientelle, lovely reasonably priced restaurants.
Its between PDLA and Playa del Duque. We have been twice and if returning to Tenerife would pick this area again. It was our first time doing a DYI holiday and we were a little aprehensive.
Dare I say it, we travelled Ryan air trouble free! and booked a studio appartment with Owners Direct at Sun Set Beach complex.
The people we rented from were very nice and helpful. (UK couple) The apartment was fine, nice balcony, pool area needed new Sun Loungers at the time 2 years ago.0
